9:53 AM, I sigh, still looking for a public job to cover up my private one. A few openings catch my eye, yet I'm nervous I won't be hired. I circle the two and close my eyes. My butt began to hurt from sitting on the hard wood floor of my apartment. A knock on the door beckons me from my thoughts. I open the door to see men in overalls.
"Hello, how may I help you?"
"We have the furniture you ordered, Ms. [L/N]," the man with a mustache stated.
"Oh, I see come on in. I assume you know where to put most of the furniture?" I stepped aside, letting them in.
"Yeah but you gotta move these on ya own after we place them in their desired rooms."
"Understood, thank you," I smiled.
Checking my phone, I realized I had received a message. I sigh as I noticed it was from Izaya. Morning [N/N]-Chan!~ I've decided to take you out for dinner this evening, I do hope you'll come! It's on me!~ I frown, agreeing as I knew that he knew I had nothing planned tonight. The men soon left after everything was in their proper rooms. I tie my hair up (if its short ignore that) and get to work on moving the couch.
Growling, I finished moving the couch to where I wanted it. I note that I'm going to need some help. Without much thought I left the house, searching for my very hot-headed and very strong friend Shizuo. I know I haven't actually talked to him yet but this sure was an opportunity to do so. I kept my eyes open, scanning the crowd for the tall blonde. I soon spotted him across the road, a smile spread across my features as I ran towards him.
"Shizuo! Hey! Wait up!" I called, running to him.
He stopped and turned to look at me, I panted as I smiled up to him, "Geez! I still struggle keeping up with you! It's me, [Y/N], it's been a while huh?"
Shizuo blinked for a moment before a small smile graced his usually frowning lips, "You're back! How was America? What are you doing back?"
"I moved back into town, my grandfather passed away unfortunately, I got a new apartment actually. I may need some help moving my furniture, heh. Plus, I wanted to talk to you and see how you've been! You were fighting with Izaya whenever I tried to talk to you."
"That damned flea, sorry about that. Sure, I'll help move your furniture. You owe me lunch," Shizuo looked down at me, his eyes hiding behind his blue sunglasses.
"Deal!" I smiled and lead the way to my apartment.
On the way we talked about how he's been doing without me around, the things that have changed since I left, even about the jobs I've been looking at. He told me to apply to the two I found today, I told him I would. Once we got to my apartment, we both got to work, moving the furniture. With Shizuo's help, we got done a lot quicker. I check the time to see it was 12:34 PM.
"I'll make lunch, I'd rather not go out all sweaty and gross," I smile to Shizuo, he simply nods with a grunt, "If you're going to smoke please sit by the window."
He sat by the window with a cigarette in hand, smoke coming from its end. I grabbed the needed ingredients and begin making us some ramen. Neither of us talked for a few minutes, it was comfortable silence. A smile found its way to my lips as a memory graced my mind.
~
"Why don't you ever have your own lunch?"
"I don't know," the blonde grunted to the girl.
"How about this, I make you lunch and bring it to you!" She smiled.
"Nah, why would you go outta of your way for me like that? I'm fine," he sighed.
"Too bad, I'm doing it and you better eat what I bring. I'm doing it because you should eat three meals a day!" Her smile only brightened.
"Heh, alright. I'll eat whatever you make," he smiled.
"Great!"
~
"Hey, remember when I used to make you lunch and bring it to you? Man, your face lit up when I brought you that first lunch!" I laughed.
Shizuo gave a small chuckle and grunt, "Heh, yeah."
"Well, I made ramen! Come eat!" I set his bowl on the counter.
Shizuo put out his cigarette and came to eat. We talked for a while, I complained about not having a job yet and all that. Our conversation was interrupted by Shizuo's phone ringing. He had to go out on a job, we waved goodbye and I sat on my new couch with a heavy sigh. I still needed some things but I can wait. Getting up I decide to take a shower. Grabbing fresh clothes and a towel I headed to the bathroom.
Turning the knob water began running from the shower head, I began to undress. Letting my clothes fall to the bathroom floor I step into the shower. I closed the glass door on the shower and let the water soak my body, closing my eyes as I smile. Opening my mouth, I begin to sing a small tune.
"Darling so it goes, some things are meant to be. Take my hand, take my whole life too for I can't help falling in love with you," I hum, not knowing of the man outside my bathroom door.
Letting a sigh escape my lips as they smile, the steam surrounded the bathroom as the hot water ran. Washing my hair, I continue humming as I enjoyed my shower. The man smirked, listening to my humming, he roamed the apartment, waiting. I turn off the water and step out of the shower, wrapping my body in a towel. Hearing the footsteps, my heart rate quickens. Who the hell is in my home? My phone is in the living room, I thought before eyeing the plunger. I sigh and pick it up, making sure my towel is tightly wrapped around my body I open the door.
"Well hello [N/N]-" I interrupted Izaya by swinging the plunger at him, hitting him with it.
"My god, Izaya! You can't keep breaking and entering my house! Call me or something, so I know you're coming!" I frown.
"Then it'd be no fun! You're so mean, hitting me with a nasty plunger," He chuckled.
"Its new, I haven't used it yet," I huff.
"You're not going to ask why I'm here?"
"I figured you'd just tell me whether I ask or not. Let me get dressed first," I say as I head to the bathroom.
"Can I watch?~" Izaya chuckled.
"No."
"No fun, [N/N]-Chan," Izaya pouted only to smirk.
