Hours later, I awoke to a bright light shining in my eyes. I thought that maybe Chase was shining a flashlight in my eyes just to be a jerk. Turns out, I was wrong; it was morning and the sun was shining brightly through the windows we had yet to put curtains over.

"Damnit," I mumbled as I checked my phone to see what time it was. To my surprise it was almost noon. I looked over to see both my mom and brother had disappeared from their beds. Where'd they go? I yawned, stretched like a cat, then headed towards our kitchen for some breakfast. That was where I found both Mom and Chase scarfing down donuts at the breakfast bar. They guiltily looked at me as I walked in, raising an eyebrow in amusement.

"There's still some left for you," Chase said around the donut he'd shoved in his mouth. Scrunching my face up in disgust, I walked over and looked in the box to see what was in there. To my surprise there was a strawberry one untouched so I quickly picked it up. I took a bite, holding back a moan as the strawberry taste assaulted my taste buds. I smiled at Mom as a thanks for the donuts and for the cappuccino she'd just set in front of me.

After we ate breakfast in our empty kitchen, we set out on unloading the U-Haul. After dropping off one of the boxes that go in the living room, I walked back outside to look around. It's actually a really nice neighborhood, so I hope that we get to stay here for awhile. When I looked to my left, I saw a very handsome man walking towards me. It took me a second to notice I was staring, but once I did, I went and walked up the truck ramp to get another box.

"Hi." I swear I about fainted when I heard his deep velvety voice behind me. Thankfully I didn't, but I did turn around pretty quickly, which gave me a head-rush. Holy... He had to be the sexiest man alive. Messy brown hair, showing off his bright green eyes, and a tall, muscular body that you could see by the way he was leaning against the truck. I blushed, realizing I had been caught checking him out. "So you're my new next door neighbor?" He asked while chuckling at my embarrassment. Where in the hell are Chase and Mom? I thought frantically.

"Erm, yea, I guess so. Which house is yours?" I asked tenatively, looking around the neighborhood again. I was never good with strangers, especially hot strangers. He pointed toward the house to the left of mine, but still didn't take his eyes off of me. It was starting to unnerve me, so I looked down to gather my thoughts. "Oh. Cool. Um...what's your name?"

"My name's Evan, Evan Stephenson. Yours?" He held out his hand for me to shake.

"Nevaeh Everett." I stated and hesitantly looked at his hand. After a minute of me awkwardly standing there, he put his hand in his pocket. "Sorry, I'm not good with, uh...n-new people."

"It's fine," he cleared his throat, "do you need some help with this?" He inquired, indicating all the boxes and furniture still in the truck. After a quick glance, I noticed there was still a lot more to move, so I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm not really sure where my mom and brother are.." I trailed off because I really had no idea where they'd gone. I swear if they are sitting inside while I do all the work... Evan walked up the ramp, waiting for me to tell him where to start. I pointed out two boxes that were labeled the same, not even realizing who's boxes they were. "One of those"

"What about your dad?" He asked as he picked up the box and followed me down the ramp.

"He's in the army, so he isn't around very often." He nodded. I picked up the second box and told him to follow me. He shrugged and did just as I told him to, following me through the front door. I finally looked at the labels to see where the boxes were supposed to go, only to see they were mine, so I started to lead the way to my room. Unfortunately this is where my mom came out from nowhere, almost making me drop my box.
