It had been a week since the first day of training and today was their first spring game. I was assigned to the guys playing at home, which consisted of my four roommates. I was in khaki shorts and the blue shirt I'm forced to wear for home games. The team was warming up as the two other trainers assigned with me were walking me through the routine.

"Since you're just an intern you won't be handling major things. Pretty much just ice and tape." Nathan said. "Unless you're cool with broken bones."

"I'm okay with tape, thanks though." I laughed.

"You'll be in the dugout the entire game unless you're needed on the field. After, you'll meet in the training room to clean up and work with anyone else." Tyler added, "If you need to pee, uh, I don't know honestly."

"I'll be fine." I shrugged. The players started to file into the dugout and situate themselves. I was seated on a chair in a corner organizing my stuff. I glanced around at the team and my eyes met with Kris'. He smiled at me and I felt my cheeks turn red. Ah fuck.

Ever since the night of the bar, we grew closer. More then just a few hellos. We held conversations and began to learn more about each other. He grew up in Vegas, met his (ex)fiancé in high school, played baseball pretty much all his life. He likes classic rock and the occasional hip hop, and he plays guitar. All that fun stuff.

I continued to organize my area when I felt at a on my shoulder.

"Ice please." Kyle asked.

"You finally learned your manners. Maybe we can turn it into a full question next time." I smirked and handed him an ice bag.

"Maybe." He laughed and thanked me before walking back to the bench. We had about an hour before the game started, so most players just relaxed on the bench after their warmup.

"Hey," A recognizable voice muttered. "I was hoping you would want to grab some dinner after the game. My treat." Kris smiled down at me.

"I would love to." I smiled, "Only if you win."

"That's how you're gonna play? Game on." He smirked and walked back to Anthony on the bench. He whispered something to Anthony who then proceeded to high-five Kris. Boys.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie, since no one wanted to do extra innings over training. The team was leaving the park after getting dressed. I packed all my stuff into my assigned locker and cleaned up around the dugout. I remembered to pack extra clothes this time and decided to change. The khakis may make my ass look good, but they're still khakis. I glanced around and realized only staff were left, so I went into the training room and closed the door. There's no girls locker room, and the bathrooms after games are disgusting, so I had to change somewhere. I decided to make it quick, and threw my shirt off in record time. As I went to grab my shirt, there was a knock on the door.

"Violet? We still on for dinner?" Shit. Please don't come in.

"Uh yeah, give me a second." I threw on the flannel and changed into my leggings before opening the door. "Sorry I was...cleaning."

"Yeah you totally didn't magically change clothes." He laughed. "I know we didn't win but we didn't lose either."

"Fine, fine. Take me to dinner." I fake sighed as we both walked out together. "Do you know where we're going? Or how we'll get there?"

"It's a surprise. And there's this thing called Uber, don't know if you've heard of it."

"I've never even seen a car in my life."
