Before I start, I should tell you about myself. My names Scarlet Lex and I'm an agent for the T.O.D.Z. I'm the one of the best agents and I'm only 24. I have brown hair and eyes and I'm average height. My organisation was founded when a chemical that was supposed to cure diseases, turned people into zombies. Most cities have been destroyed, but the ones that still stand are guarded by T.O.D.Z agents. The cities have huge walls surrounding them. I used to patrol those walls, killing any zombie that came too close. I was then promoted to a field agent, which meant I went out and hunted zombies. That's what I was doing for five years. The other 11 I spent training and patrolling a wall in Queensland, Australia. That's where I was born. Now I live in California. There's was a large amount of zombies there. I lived in an apartment just inside the wall where the city was. I had a whole bunch of fancy gear there. I had guns, knives, swords and my favourite: bow and arrow. I also had a zombie room down stairs. Every once and a while, we would capture a zombie and see if we could make it human or try to communicate with it. But of course, that never happened, so I would cross them off. But I should stop telling you about me and get to the story.
I think November 21 8:45 am is a good place to start. The day before I met Aaron.

I walked into the HQ office with my head held high. We had just destroyed an entire 6 story building full of zombies. That set a big record for me. Director Ice had requested that I see him. He had another assignment. I walked through the office until I reached his room. I knocked twice and walked in. Ice was at his desk reading a file I hoped was my report.

"I would like to congratulate you, Scarlet. This is the biggest bust in our history." I couldn't help but blush when he said that."But unfortunately, you won't be able to have a victory party. I have a big assignment for you. New satellite footage shows large sums of zombies in Nevada. I need you to go to Carson City and terminate them. You may take only three team members, but make sure sure you take care of them. Our numbers are dwindling as it is. We can't afford to loose anyone else. Understood?" I nodded and stood up straight.

"Understood sir." He handed me the file he was reading. Not my report, but one on the Carson City zombies. Estimated 570 roaming the streets. Well that would be difficult. I went and saw agents Grace Simmons, Tom Clean and Emily Hill. They were some of the best agents. Simmons was the best at analysing the zombies. She had two PhD in biology. She's able to tell how long ago they died, how much they eat, how long the sleep. She's like the zombie whisperer. Clean and Hill were like me. Tactical specialists. The ones that shoot first ask questions later. We all grabbed our gear and headed to the run way. A small jet was there to take us the Carson City. The flight wouldn't take long. The airport at Carson is usually a quiet place. Zombies tend to hang where the food is. Some people don't live in the walled cities. They live at they're homes, waiting to be eaten. I've never understood it.

We boarded the jet with bags filled with equipment and weapons. Simmons jumped into the pilots seat to start take off. Clean organised his security cameras that would watch the outside of the jet while we slept. The jet was also fitted with motion sensors and thermal detectors. Which don't really do anything because zombies a cold, because they're dead. Once we landed we carefully exited with our weapons ready. It wasn't dark yet, so we had time to set up. Tomorrow we would scout buildings to try and find these zombies. The runway was deserted. Pieces of paper littered the ground. Half the airport was collapsed. We would stay out in the open. Makes it easier to run if we had to. After Clean finished attaching his cameras, we made our way inside. We all sat down and started doing our own thing.

"You know, you haven't spoken much since I asked you to join me on this, Hill. You OK?" I asked Hill. She hadn't said a word the entire time.

"I'm just nervous I guess. I've never done anything this big. I just think it's a lot for only four. If it were up to me, I would have at lease 20 good agents clearing the city." Hill said back. I'd never seen her so tense. Usually she was the one to lighten the mood, but now she was like the cloud of doom and gloom.

"Well it's not up to us and we can't afford to bring so many men. Ice won't admit it, but we're barely able to protect the walled cities now." Clean pipped in. He was cleaning his gun, trying to intimidate us by looking shady in the corner. Of course we didn't have many agents left. They keep dying. Ice is just letting them go out into the field without the proper training. Guarding the walls is one thing, but being chased by a dead person that haven't eaten in weeks is completely different.

"Well it looks like there's not going to be any exciting talk tonight. I'm going to guard the plain. You three get some rest. Hill, I'll wake you when I'm tired. You'll need all the sleep you can get. Tomorrow is a big day!" Simmons almost sounded excited about it. She was never the shooting type, she just helps us figure out the best way to kill these things. Also, if we get injured she's our medic. The three of us settled into our cots at the back of the jet. Simmons was right, tomorrow would be a big day. I need all the sleep I could get.
