In which Jughead dreams of Jason's killer getting Betty, and Betty soothes him ❤
He sees nothing but darkness. Then he hears a scream, a woman's scream. He'd know that scream anywhere, Betty Cooper. Jughead looks around and yells and yells for her. What is happening? Where is Betty, why is she screaming? He tries running but suddenly, he is wading through a river, the water coming up to his waist. He then hears a whimper, then a thumping sound, and the sound of a body slumping. A spotlight then comes down on Betty. She is tied to a chair, dressed in what she wore for the wake, the water reaching her chest with scarlet blood trickling down the side of her head. Her head is slumped back onto her shoulder, eyes close, bruised everywhere. He panics, struggling to wade through the water, but he feels the materials below suck his feet in so he can't budge them. Then he hears a sickening deep, chuckle.
"You stupid children," a dark figure emerges and stands behind Betty. Clifford Blossom holds a gun, using the end of it to move the blonde strands of hair out of Betty's face. Jughead freezes as the gun was points at Betty.
"Please, Mr Blossom," he begins, "don't hurt her." Clifford smiles wickedly, and presses the gun into her head.
"No!" Jughead yells, he can't move in the water, he struggles and struggles, yells and yells but he can't stop Clifford from pulling the trigger, nor the harsh bullet burying itself deep within the blonde-haired girl's head.
"Hey! Hey, Juggie!" Jughead awakes with soft arms wrapped around his sweaty body. He looks up at the familiar face, panting, and sighs with relief.
"Betty," he breathes, he feels a tear fall down his face.
"Hey, it's okay Jug, I'm here." Betty's voice soothes him.
"I... I thought... you..." he tries talking, but Betty places her hands on the sides of his face.
"Look at me Jug, it's fine. It was a dream, we're both here, in my bed. It's okay. Shhhh." Betty puts her arms around his body and cradles him, soothing him.
"Do you want to talk about it, or go back to sleep?" She asks carefully.
"No," he says, "Bets, I don't want to go back to sleep, I want to be with you."
Betty smiles sweetly, "Okay Juggie, come with me." She holds her hand out and he takes it. Betty grabs a blanket and leads him downstairs and outside, tiptoeing so that Alice doesn't hear them. They sit on her doorstep, cuddled in the blanket and watch the sunrise together, peacefully thinking of nothing but how blissful and rare a moment like this is.
