“I’m glad you two could make it,” Louis says as greets us at the doorway of his home. I stand behind my mother with squinty eyes. Louis grins at me. “Come on in.” My mother steps inside of the home immediately and leaves me outside. Rolling my eyes, I walk inside the home, only to be pinched on the bottom by Louis. “Cheer up, Curls.” Resisting the urge so pinch him back, I follow my mother and Louis into the living room.

“Thank you for doing this, Louis,” my mom says kindly. I know for a fact she doesn’t want to be here. Neither do I to be quite honest. I highly doubt my mom would like a guy like Mr. Wright. Yet, here we all are, waiting for the older man to show up and woe my mom.

Louis smiles at her. “It’s not a problem.” He looks at me for a moment before speaking again, “Harry’s told me about what’s happened recently and I just thought I’d help you realize there are way better guys in this town.” My mom nods at him.

“Thank you,” she says again.

Then the doorbell rings.

“You have a seat over there and I’ll just invite him inside,” Louis says. “Harry, would you like to come?” I nod my head and leave my mother to herself with a quick smile.

“This is so stupid,” I say the moment we get out of my mother’s earshot, “and you’re talking weird.”

“Don’t be sour, Curls,” Louis says while leaning in for a quick kiss. When he pulls back he smirks at me. “This might be our only chance, so I’m soaking it up.” We walk towards the door in silence.

“I seriously believe we should act like we’re not here and forget this whole date thing,” I say. Louis leans against the door with the smirk still on his face.

“Lighten up. This is for your mom and you,” he reminds me. “We want her to stay, so this has to happen.” He pecks my lips one last time. “Now, smile and wave.” That’s the only thing he says to me before swinging open the door. “George!” he exclaims. “So glad you’ve made it!”

“Hello Louis,” Mr. Wright says while walking inside the home and looking around, eyes landing on me. “Hello Harry.”

Smile and wave, Harry.

“Hi, Mr. Wright,” I say in a happy tone while giving a small wave.

“I really do hope you’re okay with this,” he says looking down at me. I smile the biggest, fakest smile I can muster up.

“Of course I am!” I say loudly. This is painful. “I wouldn’t have had Louis suggest it if I weren’t okay with it!”

“That was your doing?” he questions me. I nod quickly and keep the grin on my face.

“I wouldn’t want my two favourite people to be single forever,” I say sarcastically. Mr. Wright chuckles at me.

“No need for exaggerating, Mr. Styles,” he says. Louis and I laugh (fakely, might I add).

“Well, George, the woman of your dreams is right in there. If you two would like a private introduction, you can go ahead of us,” Louis suggests. I cringe at the ‘woman of your dreams’ part. Ew.

“I guess that will be alright,” Mr. Wright says.

“Great!” Louis says. “We’ll come in in a little while after you to have gotten to know each other a bit.” Mr. Wright nods and turns into the living room. We both remain quiet until we can hear my mother giggle as she introduces herself. Louis and I share a look

Already giggling? This guy must be a charmer.

“This is going to be a weird night.” Louis looks at me and shrugs. “Sure beats moving, doesn’t it?” He asks me.
