Dean and Castiel sat in silence for a few seconds. They shared a few side glances at each other, smiles playing at the edge of their mouths. "Do you wanna maybe go to a room? It's getting sort of cold here and I'm missing my jacket" Dean offered, rubbing his Palm on his upper arm. Castiel nodded, turning to Dean and grinning.
Dean put and arm on the small of Cas' back, lightly pushing him to walk beside him. They re-entered the cabin and escaped the people around them climbing up the stairs and into the nearest room they saw. "It's dark in here" Castiel whispered, taking a small step back from Dean as they were practically nose to nose. "Feel for the light switch" Dean bluntly answered, blindly reaching for the wall. "Duh".
A few shuffles later and Dean flicked the weak light on. "What an upgrade" Castiel rolled his eyes at the barely lit room. "Why even bother, Cas?"
Castiel shrugged and pulled up a wooden chair. "So last time we texted..." Dean started, the chatter was still saved in his old phone, along with all their pictures together.
Dean🐲: Good morning
Cas🌊: hi, how's today going?
Dean🐲: dad made us pancakes. It's all good.
Dean🐲: I wish you were here though
Cas🌊: stop being salty and saviour your pancakes.
Dean🐲: Whatever you say
Cas🌊: Gabriel said to say to you that he's saying hi to Sam.
Dean🐲: Sam says hi too.
Cas🌊: Also, I found a really good doctor who can give me top surgery and testosterone shots for free.
Dean🐲: Seems a bit scamish
Cas🌊: his reputation is really good! I also did my research.
Dean🐲: I hope everything goes your way, Cas.
Cas🌊: I too, Dean.
Dean🐲: I love you.
Cas🌊: I love you too, Dean. I'll talk to you soon.
Dean never got a text from Cas after that conversation. Assuming the worst; he stopped functioning for a few days, That turned into months. Sooner than later, Sam needed to go to collage and John was working three jobs to financially stabilise them. Dean pulled himself together, and started working for his little brother's sake.
