"Logan MacDonald is a teen star who's fame blew up practically overnight. The YouTuber is a hit among 'tween' and teen, mostly girls, across the world and his name is becoming quite familiar in many households. It can be inferred that-"

The T.V was clicked off, "You are doing well, Patient Zero. You haven't let me down...yet." A middle aged man said to the brown-haired boy tapping away on his phone.

Logan looked up from his phone and smiled, "It's easy. They'll believe anything I say." His friendly smile turned to a wicked smirk. In the poorly-lit underground hideout, his features were hidden in the shadows.

"I believe I have a meeting event tomorrow, don't I?" Logan stood and began pacing.

"Indeed you do, my young friend." The man, Malcolm answered.
"Now go get ready, we're leaving for L.A. in two hours." He added.

Logan walked away silently. His bedroom was no bigger than a walk in closet. One wall was plastered with missing child posters from newspapers and milk cartons. Malcolm had kidnapped Logan when he was just a toddler.

He was raised around science and was promised great power and strength if he did everything Malcolm had told him to do.

Logan could hardly remember his parents but it made him feel good to know his parents didn't forget about him. Logan threw a few t-shirts and a few pairs of jeans into a bag. Then, he grabbed his fedora and dog tag necklace he was known for wearing in his videos.

After putting all that in his duffle bag, he then made sure his video camera was packed. He went back into the TV room.

"I've finished. Do you need help with anything?"

"No. Go put your bags in the jet and let the pilot know we'll be leaving a bit sooner than expected. The sooner we get to LA the better, and you can film another video to post."

"Another?" Logan complained, "Why so many? I've been making more and more."

"Because your fame is increasing. The more frequently you post, the quicker more people will see them."

Logan had started off making a new video once a month, then once a week, and then three times a week. At this rate, he'd be making another video every day.

"Okay fine. How about a question one? I can have my fans ask me questions, and I'll answer them," he suggested. Malcolm didn't seem too fond of that but he agreed.

Logan did not enjoy making videos. He knew all the videos he made were encrypted with a virus created by Malcolm Dryfuss himself. When someone new watched a video, they would experience dizziness, potential memory loss, and would be branded with an Arabic style scar. Logan suffered all of these, and it caused him to develop epilepsy.

The plane ride didn't last too long. Logan hated heights.

"Tonight will be the night it all happens. All the infected will be lured to my den. I will find war, famine, and death then. You, of course, will be summoned as well. You know where it is?" Malcolm tried to keep Logan focused on him instead of the heights.

"Hey, look at me!" He snapped, smacking the back of his head.

Logan flinched, and tore his gaze away from the window and slammed the shade down.

"The hell is matter with you, boy? How do you expect me to trust you'll be able to do what you have to, when you can't even function on a bloody plane?!" He snapped at the green-eyed teen.

Logan slouched down in his chair. "My apologies. I will better myself. I won't let a minor inconvenience be a weakness to me." He said what he knew the older man wanted to hear.

It was silent the rest of the plane ride. After landing, Logan walked behind Malcolm as he was addressed.

"My assistant will be posing as your manager tomorrow in case anything goes...wrong."

Despite Logan living with and working for Malcolm most of his life, he was still kept on a very short leash. He rarely left alone, forbid he try to escape or tell someone Malcolm's plan.

"Nothing will go wrong. I assure you, I won't let you down," Logan mumbled his response.
