I feel out of place here. Everybody acts as if I am a queen when I am around. I can tell that there is a secret being kept from me.

“Marie! Marie! I said do the dishes!" I snap out of my thoughts and get to it right away. As I walk towards the dish washer I find a little sticky note and a book on the kitchen table. The note says, “Read this book to find out the secret being kept from you. I know this is for me considering what I was just thinking. I open to the first page and it reads: 'Your name is Tris and you have been brain washed!'

I am dropped off at school as usual by my father (I think he still is) and then walk to my classroom. My teacher is really amazing! She is also really kind to me without treating me like I am a queen or a princess. I have really good friends in my class. Their names are; Audrey Jones, and Grace Addams. We all like to hang, and just do whatever pops up. "Peace, MJ!" calls Grace from behind me. She calls me that because those are the initials for my first and middle name - Marie Jane. "What up, girl?" chimes in Audrey while Grace comes in with, "What are you doing without us, huh?" I blush and give a slight smile.

I show them the book and I read a few more pages too. "So, from reading this, we know, your name is Tris, you've been brain washed, and we just found out, you are..." Jakob gets quiet and whispers, "...Divergent!" Then, Audrey, still staring at the ground, and - still in a whisper - says, "Yes, but judging from this, that' s not all she is!"
