(Y/N's POV)
It's a chilly Saturday afternoon in Manchester, not my home city but it may as well be, seeing as I'm here most weekends. As I walk up to the venue, I realise my whole body is shaking - the cold? Or is it nerves? I jog up the steps in my platform shoes. Probably don't help with the shakiness but at least I'll be able to see the stage for once!
My tickets are being checked when the the realisation sets in. I haveVIP access. For Highly Suspect. I'm one of 5 fans granted this for this show, which is absolutely insane.

My heart is pounding and I can feel the beat pulsing in my entire body.
I'm here way too early as per usual, it's only just hit 4:30. I can't help it, I hate being late, and I hate being disorganised. I'm taken by a secueity guard to what I assume is the green room. No one else here. Great. I pull out my phone, but before I can open an app, another person pops through the doors with security.

"Are you here for the Highly Suspect gig?" a dark haired, blue eyed boy asked me.
"Yes I am! Do you have VIP access too?" I replied with a shaky smile. I'm still nervous as hell- I hate meeting new people. Especially attractive ones. Don't get me wrong, he's not my type, but there was just something about his sharp jawline and razorblade cheekbones that made me shiver even more than I already was. Does anyone even turn on the heating in these places?
"Yeah I do. My name's Matt."
"Cool. I'm (Y/N)."

Matt and I chatted for a bit. I was not comfortable, his eyes felt as if they were piercing into my soul, and his dark curls that fell on his forehead looked like they would be so soft inbetween my fingertips.
After half an hour of sheer hell, the venue opened it's doors and two girls arrived. One had short bleach blonde bob, and the other had blue hair with a fringe that came to just below her shoulder blades. They both had matching leather jackets and septum piercings. They introduced themselves as Ash and Rose, and they had been best friends since primary school. Shortly after, a boy with light brown swoopy hair and green eyes called Alex came too. We were greeted by a guy who told us the band would meet us in a few minutes.

We were lead to another room, and we plonked ourselves onto some leather sofas, anticipating the band's arrival.
Realising we might have a long wait, we decided as a group to get to know each other better.
"CIRCLE TIME!" Rose yelled, flicking her blue hair over her shoulder. "We each state our name, age, and a fact about ourselves. I'll start! I'm Rose, I'm 19, and I'm a photographer. Oh and I dye my hair a new colour each month."
"Isn't that like, really unhealthy?" Matt said. Rose rolled her eyes.
"Not if you look after your hair properly it isn't. Now you next seeing as you seem to know everything."
Alex coughed awkwardly as Matt began to talk. "I'm Matt, I'm 20, and I am a part time model, part time drummer."
"Never would guessed" I murmured. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow, and I spoke so he didn't ask me to repeat what I had said. "I'm (Y/N), I'm 19 and I play lots of instruments."
"I'm Alex, I'm 21 and I am a part time carer, and I play ukulele in my spare time." The brown haired boy next to me said.
"Who are you a carer for?" I questioned.
"My mum, and I have been bringing up my two younger brothers since I was 12" he said. I looked up at him through my thick eyelashes and gave him a shy smile.
"That's so sweet" Ash intervened. "I'm Ash, I'm 19 and I am a professional singer".
Out of everybody, I felt most comfortable with Alex. He just seemed so calm, and the kind of person I wanted to get to know. Our group conversation began to grow stale, and we drifted to talk to specific people. I stayed with Alex.
"So what instruments do you play?" He asked. We were sat together on a two seater sofa in the corner of the room.
"Oh I do a bit of everything, but mainly piano and guitar, and I love to sing. I don't want to intrude, but how come you care for your mum?"
He sighed and I was worried I had gone too far, when he started to open up to me. His mum has been suffering from an array of mental health issues, mainly bipolar disorder, for years but when his dad left they just got worse, and her drugs seem to have no effect on her.
We talked for what seemed like forever until we were called through...
