Maybe that's why we burnt out.
We were meant to be
Everyone around agreed
You were my first love
And I was yours
So what went wrong
That made us burn out?
Best friends forever
That's what we were
Until you and I fell in love with each other.
Everyone knew except the two of us
That I liked you
And you liked me too.
We did everything together
Everyday was amazing
As long as I was with you
Everyone would ask if we were a couple
Or they would tell us everyday that we would be cute together
We'd blush and look away and say "no we're just friends"
When inside our heads, we would wish the opposite instead
But that never happened
We had a falling out
And we stopped talking altogether
I see you everyday
In my thoughts, dreams and real life too
And it pains me everyday that I can't be with you
We were never together
But the thought of you with someone else tears me apart.
And no matter how much I try to hate you
For everything you did
I just can't
Because I was a part of why we burnt out too.
We were a perfect match but along with every match,
We burnt out too.
