CHAPTER 9: A DEAL
I look at Leo. I stammer,
“Nothing, you guys look so a like,” Leo looked surprised and says,
“Seriously? I don’t even look anything like Julie, right Julie?” I see Julie tug his shoulder and she whispers to him loud enough for me to hear,
“Can you leave me out of this? I am going to wet my pants if we stay here longer!”
Kate and Lily say, “We’re bored. Hey Julie want to go to the park and let the two argue?” Kate and Lily weren’t bullies but they just hung out with me because I was their best friend.
Great. How nice best friends. Ditch me and go with Julie.
I redden and say, “Hey you can’t just go,” Kate and Lily ignored me and just walked away with Julie. I grunted and said firmly,
“Why did you help me yesterday? I was so mean to you yesterday,” I say in a harsh whisper. Leo smiled in his most annoying smile in the world,
“Well, I didn’t know it was you and even if I knew I help everyone,” He sneered and laughed teasingly. I give him my most dreadful eye but it didn’t affect him.
“It doesn’t affect him, this is OUTRAGEOUS!” I scream.
I didn’t notice that I screamed that out loud. Leo stares at me in shock.
“Are you sure you went to sleep last night?” Leo said quietly.
“I heard that,” I say through gritted teeth. A little cute snow, white puppy just pops behind Leo’s legs. I really like that little puppy. The puppy comes forward and sits in front of my legs and looks up at me. I pet the puppy and I look at Leo and I see that he isn’t doing anything then looking at the puppy and me and smiling.
I guess he was saying to look at the collar because when I looked behind the collar it said ‘Leo Flames’. I envy him so much and redden even more. He laughs and calls ‘Snowflake’. I ask,
“His name is Snowflake?” I giggle a little; this is the first time I giggled in my whole life. Leo gapes then he says a little offended,
“She’s a girl and it looks like you never giggled before,” I nod and then I pet Snowflake and she starts licking my face. I guess Leo envied me.
I said simply, “I have always wanted a dog, and I am good with animals, just because I’m a bully doesn’t mean I’m not good at other things.”
“Well that explains it,” Leo said confused a little. After a few minutes Julie, Kate and Lily came back. They were giggling and looked like they had just become best friends. I envied them a little but then I softened a little.
Julie says, “Leo I’m going back to my house come in 20 minutes ok? I’ll tell my mum so…. Kate and Lily are coming to my house!” she skipped off with her new friends. I sighed and gathered all my courage up and I asked Leo,
“Can you bring Snowflake tomorrow?”
He smiled and said, “There’s a deal. You go against the deal I won’t bring Snowflake. Stop bullying and I will bring Snowflake.” He said simply but it had a great effect on me. I looked at him as I was saying: You’re making the worst deal ever! I shall bully when I need to so don’t tell me what to do. He understood and said,
“Bully me not others,” He said and then he said goodbye and left. I laughed half-heartedly.
