A couple weeks later ...

I got dressed in an olive green tight dress that stops below my knees, and nude colored heals. I brush my straightened hair, and get a black and white purse. I put my phone, and a couple more things inside of it, and put on my gold mirror sun glasses along with a gold choker. I go downstairs, and my mother looks at me weirdly. She got up, and fixed her casual black dress. "Where are you going? It's Saturday."

"I always go places on Saturdays."

"Yea but not at this time," she crossed her arms.

"Mom, it's 1pm."

"So? Where are you going?"

"With Nick." I lie.

She nodded. "Okay. Have fun."

I leave the house, and go into a black Jeep Wrangler. "This is your car?"

Mateo shook his head. "No. It's my brothers.....at least you nah wearing pink, or bright blue and shit."

I roll my eyes, and take my phone out of my purse. "So?"

"I have a question."

"And?"

"Why do you wear dresses every day?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Because I can."

"Why?"

"Because I like dresses."

"Why?"

"Because it's my style."

"Why?"

"Because my friends wear dresses, so I have to look better."

"Why?"

".......so people would like me." I say lowly.

"Why?"

"So I won't be a loser." I mumble.

"Why?"

"I don't wanna be them."

"Why?"

"They're ugly, have no life, and can't dress for shit." I spat.

He stared at me long and hard. "I was a 'loser'."

I didn't say anything.

"Do you like to wear dresses everyday?"

I feel tears run down my cheeks. "No. But I have to do it. So people would like me, and look up to me. And my parents like it when I wear dresses."

"Why don't you just be yourself?"

"Nobody would like me. They would say I'm ugly."

"Shit. Beyonce walk around with weird ass clothes sometimes, and I think she's beautiful."

"So? That's her. She's famous. Everyone likes her. For me, I have to dress nice for people to like me." I sob.

"You don't have to wear dresses for people to like you."

"Yes I do."

He shook his head. "No. People could still look nice in jeans. I'm not saying to change your style and everything, but I'm just saying. If you don't like dresses, then don't wear them. And you hiding your feelings makes you mean." He said beginning to drive.

I think he's right......For the first time, I think someone's right, and I don't be rude about it.

I mean, I like heals . I could still wear dresses, but maybe I could wear jeans and heals sometimes ... or a bit more .
