It was past noon when Yuri finally complied to Hyoyeon’s constant nagging in telling their village leader about Taeyeon’s existence. If Taeyeon didn’t agree with Hyoyeon and their other friends, Yuri would have insisted on letting Taeyeon rest for one more day to regain her strength back.

Taeyeon didn’t want to be any more burden to Yuri and her friends than she already was in the past two days. Besides that fact, Taeyeon felt like she was unwanted by Yuri’s friends, although she hadn’t met all of them yet. The three girls present earlier in the morning seemed to be, or was trying to be distant towards her.

If it wasn’t for her memory loss, she would have fled right away back to wherever she came from. Right now, she only remembers her name. She has no choice but to cling to Yuri for help. She doesn’t much like the idea but there’s no one else trustworthy enough other than the girl who took care of her for two days. Taeyeon thought that Yuri’s friends also don’t trust her even if Yuri had defended her from them.

Yuri led Taeyeon to the door, her arms over Taeyeon’s tiny waist. Taeyeon wasn’t uncomfortable with how Yuri is trying to support her from falling with her weak legs but she doesn’t like the stares she’s getting. It’s always good to stay on the safe side.

Taeyeon tapped Yuri’s hands lightly on her waist, “Umm Yuri, it’s alright. I can walk by myself.” Taeyeon said slightly embarrassed at how close Yuri’s body was.

“Taeyeon, you know you’re still weak. I told you rest a bit more. We can go to the village leader first thing in the morning tomorrow, how’s that?”

Taeyeon noticed how Yuri sounded so worried. She wanted to give in, to let herself drown in the gentleness of Yuri’s eyes but she can’t stay in this place any longer when she’s not even welcome in the first place.

Taeyeon shook her head. “Yuri, no. We have to go now.”

“Fine, but it wouldn’t hurt if you rest a bit more you know?”

Taeyeon snorted, this girl, Yuri.. is really persistent. “And I think it wouldn’t hurt if we go there now and talk to your village leader, right? It can’t be that bad. I didn’t do anything worth sentencing my life like you said..so…”

“I-I’m just….worried.”

“I know, I’m sorry for worrying you that much, Yuri.” Taeyeon took Yuri’s hand and squeezed it lightly, assuring Yuri that everything will be okay. Funny how the situation suddenly shifted, Taeyeon was the one needed help, needed comfort because she had lost everything she had known in her life. But here she was trying to assure the tanned girl that everything will be alright. Taeyeon took note of how sincere, kind, gentle and adorable Yuri was. No wonder she felt at ease having Yuri around. Yuri is a good friend.

Yuri finally opened the door and led Taeyeon outside.

Taeyeon expected to see a really primitive place with half naked people wearing animal skins, but she was welcomed with an ordinary village, nothing too primitive or luxurious. It was just a normal village.

“Oh. For a moment I really thought I was in a tribe.” Taeyeon wandered her eyes on the surroundings.

Yuri laughed heartily. “A tribe? Please Taeyeon that sounds so nomadic.  Try ‘village’..it sounds better and we’re civilized.”

“Village~~.” Taeyeon rolled off the word in her tongue.

“Yeah, that’s right Taeyeon.” Yuri grinned widely.

“I should have thought of it when you handed me your clothes. It doesn’t look like…tribal, just ordinary shirt and shorts.”

“Well, ofcourse~! Our old folks here know how to weave from threads, yarns, plant fibers and other resources and make a clothing out of it. What did you expect?” Yuri looked at Taeyeon questioningly.
