love vs. greed

How are you still here?

I trusted you'd be gone.

Yet I suppose you're loyal,

Like a star at break of dawn.

I guess I'll never rid of you.

I've got you 'till the end.

But I hope you still remember when,

I said, "Let's just be friends,"

So how are you still smiling?

Your eyes like amber, gleam.

But I think your face holds secrets,

Ones that even I haven't seen.

Perhaps you are the wisest one,

But I'm the stronger, still.

I'll stay truthful - loyal to my sins,

Until my light is killed.

You were my light, fair maiden.

You were all that I could be.

You brought me cheer, good fortune,

But it was catastrophe.

What happened next was brutal,

And it tore my soul apart.

You stole my life, my house, my home,

You laughed some at my art.

I was alone, for sorrows win,

I did not find peace.

And now you return with open arms,

But not I leave you to weep.

Meaning: sometimes love can be tarnished by the sands of greed. Jealousy, envy, and hatrid can boil through someone, and occasionally even into a person's heart.

Hope you have a nice day!
