"Shit, shit, shit," he mumbles to himself, running out the door and into the cold rain. "Please don't be late!"

He runs all the way through town on foot, nearly slipping a few times on the wet pavement. He sees his work across the street, the clock inside nearing close to 11. He takes a deep breath, running through traffic, cars blaring their horns at the man.

He rushes inside, making as most noise as possible, drenched from head to toe.

"MCLOUGHLIN!" His boss yells. "You're late!"

"I'm not! Look at the clock!" The man yells, pointing to it. Customers around him stare.

The boss sighs. "This is your last warning," he says, turning around and walks back to his office.

The man takes his heavy jacket off, revealing his faded green hair. "God, I hate him."

"That was close," a Swedish accent teases. "You need to start leaving your house earlier, Sean."

He rolls his eyes, pulling his apron on "Shut up, Felix."

Felix raises his hands in defence. "Don't yell at me. I wasn't the one to decide to get a job on the other side of town."

He kicks him in the shin, walking behind the counter.

"It's downpouring out there," Felix comments, leaning against the counter, looking out the window.

Sean walks up, seeing the heavy rain hit the glass window, the occasional flash of lightning passing by. "We should lock up early. Nobody's going to get coffee in weather like this."

Felix nods in agreement, taking his apron off. "Do you want a ride?"

Sean shakes his head. "No thank you. Traffic is horrible today."

He laughs. "Yeah, because they're trying to get away from this rain-filled country."

Giving Felix a punch in the shoulder, he leaves.
