A couple of hours went by until we finally came up to a large building. Anyone could definitely tell this man was rich because of his looks and the way his mannerisms were, but his mansion was even bigger than the orphanage. The driveway went on for miles, surrounded by a huge forrest, until it finally led to the house. It was three-stories high with multiple balconies overlooking the front yard. The windows were unnecessarily tall and a grand mahogany door stood proudly at the base of it.From what I could see, I was astounded that such a place existed. I mean, I had read books that described mansions like this one, but I thought they only resided in them. What was worse was that I hadn't even seen the full exterior of it. It could be bigger than what I was being led to believe.
When the driver parked the limousine in front, the older man got out and gestured me to as well. I gulped as I stood in front of such a regal place and began to follow him, but he quickly stopped me by putting his hand out. I looked up at him confused only to realize that I was a gift for his, so he most likely didn't want me to be seen yet.
He turned to his driver, who got out as well, and motioned him over to us. "Carver, take him to the guest house. He shall remain there until tomorrow evening." The man ordered.
The driver, Carver, bowed and began to lead me towards the back of the house. I followed and glanced around while I was at it. It was dark so it was hard to see everything, but, from what I could tell, they had a lot more ground than the orphanage. We passed a garden that took up most of the side yard, and I noticed how long the house was. It took us all of twenty minutes to walk all the way to the back of the house, which led to a smaller house.
The difference between the mansion and the house we were walking up to was excessively great, but the smaller house itself was better than most common homes. It was separated from the mansion with its own fenced-in yard and small garden. The house was a one-story but was wider than most, probably long as well.
We stepped inside to be greeted with a kitchen and dining area that connected to a large living room. The furniture was neat and clean, too expensive-looking for me to feel comfortable to sit on. The walls were decorated with exotic art peices and were colored all white, which seemed to be the theme throughout the house.
"Allow me show you to the room, Master Marley." Carver said gesturing for me to walk ahead of him.
I winced at the word "master". He was obviously an alpha, so I didn't feel comfortable for him to address me in such a manner. I felt like I was insulting his status, even if he suggested the term.
"Um, you don't have to call me that." I suggested. "I mean, you're an alpha, so I feel...awkward about being called master by you."
He raised his eywbrow curiously at me and shook his head. "Nonsense. Status doesn't matter here." He stated. "Tomorrow you are to be given to Master James, which will make you higher than me. It will only come natural for the other workers as well when they meet you."
I looked at him, unsure if it was okay or not. I mean, this could all be a trick he was playing to get me comfortable being addressed so highly, and when I was, then I would be punished by the old man to put me back in my place. I knew that was reaching and he wouldn't have anything to gain from that, but I also knew how alphas loved to see omegas suffer. I wasn't about to fall for an obvious trick so soon.
I shook my head. "It's fine. Just Marley is okay." I assured.
He sighed and nodded. "If that is what you wish. This way."
Finally, he led me to the end of hall and opened a door for me. The room was especially large with a full sized bed, a desk, a sitting area with its own bookshelf, and a walk-in closet that could be a bedroom all on its own. My mouth gaped open as I gawked at the size of the room. If it were one of the rooms at the orphanage, then it could most likely house twenty omegas, and it was supposed to be for just me to use?
