"So, um, hi, I'm Mathew, but people just call me Matt." Matt said, desperately trying to break the silence.
"Ava." I replied.
"That's pretty. So, um, what made you want to plunge into the river?" He said.
"That's really none of your business." I said, crossing my arms.
"Okay, okay, understandable." He said, taking his hands off the wheel.
"MATT THE WHEEL!" I screamed.
"Relax, I got it." He said.
"My God, you're going to kill us." I said.
He looked at me funny.
"You know what I'm not going to say anything." He said with a sly smile.
"What?" I said
"Nothing."
"What the hell is it?"
"Nothing."
"Just tell me!"
"No because you're going to call me an ass."
"Fine, I promise I won't call you an ass."
"Okay, with everything that happened tonight, I would think you getting killed is the least of your worries." He said, kind of smiling.
"*gasp* You're such an a-"
He looked at me with an I-told-you-so-look.
"You're such a butt." I finished.
"That's the same thing." He said.
"No an ass is a donkey, a butt is something else." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Wha- *sigh* whatever." He said smiling.
I wanted to smile so bad, but I knew he would want that, but holding in my smile only made me blush. Hopefully he won't notice, because I didn't know which was worse: him noticing me smiling or him noticing me blushing.
"A-a-are you blushing?" He said with a smile on his face.
"Ugh, no! I don't blush!" I said, trying to get angry.
"Well whoever told you that was wrong. O-oh I get it you wanna smile." He said, with an even bigger smile.
"No I don't!" I said, upset that he noticed.
"Yeah you do." He said, raising his eyebrows.
"What the- ugh! You know what just shut the hell up and drive!" I said frustrated.
"Okay, okay." He said. After he said that it got quiet for about 30 seconds.
"You like me." He said, really fast.
"What did you say?!" I said, with my eyes getting wide.
"Nothing." He said playing it off.
"No you said something!" I said, getting frustrated.
"What do you think I said?" He said, acting innocent.
"You know what I think you said!"
"Nope."
"I do not like you!"
"What?! I said I'm driving."
"Yeah, okay. Ugh, you're so annoying, where the hell are we going anyway?"
"This little diner down by Richmond street, and it looks like we're here."
"Oh, joy." I said with a hint if sarcasm. He only rolled his eyes.
