Red Blood - Chapter 3

Ch. 3

Lily's POV

Bradley held me close as we laid on the couch. He began to kiss my neck softly and I couldn’t help but smile. Everything was finally okay, I had my love and that was all I needed.

“Could you guys not be so gross?” Rose, one of Bradley’s sisters requested as she sat down on the other couch.

“Oh shut up!” Eva, Bradley’s other sister, demanded. “I think they’re adorable!” I smiled at Eva but I couldn’t help but notice Rose staring me down with a disgusted look. They might have been identical twins, but there was definitely nothing identical about their personalities.

“Rose, could you stop giving us that dirty look,” Bradley lashed out. Rose’s eyes turned from gold to a fiery red, almost the same tint as her long curly hair.

“Pardon me for not agreeing with this situation,” Rose began to raise her voice. “You left her for a reason” Eva swiftly jumped over to Rose’s side and hit her upside the head.

“Seriously Rose, the past is in the past,” Eva began, there was a knock at the door. “If they can let things go why can’t you?” Eva walked out of the room and to the front door. A smirk grew across Rose’s face.

“What are you smiling about?” Bradley asked.

“You’ll see,” Rose’s smile grew as Eva walked back into the room, someone was following her.

“We have company,” Eva announced, she took a step to the side so everyone could see the girl, I heard a sigh come from Bradley.Standing next to Eva was a long legged, well fit girl wearing a very scandalous red dress and a matching pair of heels. Her brown hair fell past her shoulders and looked quite messy. I could tell she was a vampire because of her eyes, they were as red as her dress.

“Courtney...” Bradley spoke after standing up.

“Hello Bradley,” the girls red lips curled up into a devilish smile.

“Who’s this?” I asked.

“This is Courtney... she’s an old friend,” Bradley introduced me. Rose let out a quiet chuckle.

“Just a friend?” Courtney questioned as she walked over to the couch and sat down right next to me. “We met back in the 1800s,” Courtney started to casually tell me. “He fell in love with me the moment he saw me, I changed him, we had a little fun, and then I left because I got bored.”

“Courtney stop,” Bradley demanded.

“What, it’s a cute story,” Courtney giggled then looked over at me. My face must have looked awfully funny because Courtney began to laugh. “Oh my gosh is this Lily?”

“Yes...” Bradley said under his breath.

“Well this is awkward,” Courtney stood up. “Rose sweety, would you mind showing me where the bathroom is? I’m in need of a shower.” Rose stood up and led Courtney out of the room, both of them smiling from ear to ear. I felt the tears form in my eyes.

“Lily, I can explain,” Bradley sat next to me and wrapped his arm around me.

“What the hell, Bradley?” I raised my voice as I pushed him away and stood up.

“Babe she’s just an old fling I had, before I even met you,” Bradley tried to explain.

“I don’t really care about flings you had before you met me, but what pisses me off is when they barge in randomly and they act like they know who I am!” I told him off.

“I don’t know how she knows you love, honestly, I haven’t talked to her since she left.” Bradley was now standing right next to me. Tears were streaming down my face, I thought I could trust him.

“He’s telling the truth Lily,” Eva interrupted. “Rose was the only who called Courtney.” I looked up at Bradley, apology written all over my face.

“Oh...” was all I could say. Bradley wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead.

“It’s alright, you had every right to worry,” Bradley told me. “I’m a shitty person sometimes.”

“No, I’m the shitty person, I jumped the gun,” I was so upset with myself, jumping to conclusions like that, I should know better.

“No, no,” Bradley kissed my nose softly then my lips.

“There is one question left though,” I said. “What’s she doing here?”
