Savannah Hartley thought her life was perfect. She had an excellent job; got consistent A's; a boyfriend who would go to the ends of the world for her and a best friend who she regarded more like her flesh and blood. Savannah Hartley thought her life was perfect. Until she walked in on her boyfriend of 3 years mid-make out with the prettiest girl in school, while she was in the next room.
Life sucks.
Halfway through junior year, Savannah's life takes a turn for the worse and, slowly but surely, begins to disintegrate altogether. But just when Savannah was about to give up, a knight in shining armour appears. Or a knight in a pink flamingo nightgown.

"Drake!" I called to his back until he turned around with a curious look painted across his face. "This is not a part of my plan."
"What plan?" he challenged, eyes daring me to rebut him.
"My plan" I replied with a sigh, why didn't he get it? "Everyone has a plan Drake; some people want to go to college, or some people just want to go straight into a full-time job, some people even travel and move out of state."
"Everyone has a plan," I reiterated, "I know what I want for my life Drake, and this", I gestured around me, " is not a part of it."
For a while, it was silent. Neither of us made a move to talk, yet the tension in the air rose still, choking all life out of the room. Just as I turned on my heel, not willing to wait for a reply that never seemed like it was going to arrive, he spoke. And as much as my instincts told me just to keep walking away, his next words paralysed me.
"Has it never occurred to you that sometimes the best plan, is not to have one at all?"
