There he was right in front of her. Standing there with his arms stretched out, calling to her for a hug. She ran to him. Her lover embraced her in his strong arms. She wanted to spend as much time as she could with him. She knew what had gone down on the roof of the rebel base. Mathew had tried to kill himself for her. He believed she herself was going to die soon and he wanted to be with her.

"I love you." Jace whispered to the boy who still had not let her go. "Even if I die I will always be with you. Through The Force that is."

"Promise me you won't die. I don't want to lose you."

"That is out of my hands. Darth Fulger killed me once and she could always do it again. I know as of right now I am clinging to life. I can not control my fate. If I die you will have to accept that fact and live your life without me." The Jedi sadly answered Mathew.

"I don't want to lose you! Please don't die." The words felt like they were being spoken underwater. Jace was falling into blackness, a blackness she might never escape.

"I love you." Jace murmured before the blackness got the best of her.

"Jace! Jace! Please! NO!" Obi-Wan stood by his daughter's bedside. The doctors had announced her as an inch away from death. Obi-Wan took Jace's ice cold hand and squeezed it as hard as he could in hopes of Jace feeling it and waking up from the coma she had been in for three days now. A sickening feeling washed over Obi-Wan, he needed to tell his wife about Jace and she also needed to know that he was alive. Afraid to leave Jace the Jedi called CP3O into the room, and gave him this message;

"Dear Amelia, I am still alive and am going the best I can to take care of Jace who may not make it. Please come to the rebel base. Love, Obi-Wan." CP3O walked out of the hospital wing and on his way to give the forlorn message to Amelia. Obi-Wan could not hold back his despaired feelings anymore, he started to cry.

Ophelia who was walking into the hospital wing saw the crying Jedi, walking over to him she sat down. "I promise you that the medical doctors are doing everything they can."

"But they are not doing enough." Obi-Wan whispered through the tears streaming down his face. "All they have done is tell me she is about to die like they think I don't know that." Ophelia remained silent. Obi-Wan continued to mourn over his daughter.

A few hours had passed since Ophelia had come. The Jedi was sitting next to Jace's bed playing with his old lightsaber which he gave to Jace when Amelia Kenobi ran into the hospital wing and embraced her husband who she had thought to be dead for the longest time.

"I came as soon as I got your message. What happened to Jace." Amelia pulled away. There was concern in her beautiful green eyes.

"Darth Fulger, a newly named Sith and Jace's old master, had captured her within our own base. Before the Sith could take her away she escaped. Jace decided to attack Darth Fulger. She was sneaking up on the Sith, but Darth Fulger sensed her and swung around with her lightsaber and nearly sliced Jace in half. She was left with a gash on her stomach. S...she actually died soon after that but Yoda saved her. She has not woken up after that night." Obi-Wan explained, except he left out the part about Mathew trying to save her.

Amelia was weeping by now. "Did nobody come to save her?"

Obi-Wan nodded his head.

"Who?"

"Darth Lite." Obi-Wan gestured over to the bed that Mathew was in. The former Sith was not looking any better than Jace. The place where the laser had hit him in the head was swollen and red.

"A Sith?" Amelia questioned. "Why would he save Jace?"

"He is now on the Light Side but I don't trust him. He tried to kill Jace not to long ago. I have no idea what or who convinced him to come to the Light Side." Obi-Wan explained without the knowledge that it was his own daughter that convinced him.

"What happened to him?" Amelia queried.

The words about how he tried to kill himself tumbled out of the Jedi's mouth. Amelia listened to every word.

"Sounds to me like they are secretly dating." Amelia said as soon as Isabella walked into the hospital wing. Isabella let out gasp. Had they caught Jace? Turning around Amelia spotted the teenaged girl.

"Who might you be?" Jace's mother walked to Isabella.

"Isabella Blackwood. I am a fighter pilot for the Light Side." Isabella tried to contain the secret Jace had told her.

"Nice to meet you. Are you a friend of Jace?"

"Yes I am and I'm very sorry about what happened to her." Isabella waved goodbye and walked over to a doctor to get medicine for Ophelia, who still had some small injuries from when the bomb exploded in the control deck. Isabella was relieved that she had not blurted out the secret.

Amelia walked back to her husband and the unconscious form of her daughter. The Jedi master was deep in thought. Were the two of them really dating? Is that why he had gone to save her?

Jace's mother sat down in a chair next to the small bed. Was her precious daughter going to die? Her only child? After her home was bombed, she was left with an injury that left her unable to bare anymore children, and if Jace died, that meant no grandkids. Grandkids. Who would carry on the Kenobi family? Who would Jace decide to marry? That is if she lives.

By now Amelia was bawling over her daughter, Obi-Wan's comforting hand on her shoulder. "Please keep fighting. Stay alive. You deserve to live more than just fourteen years of your life." Taking Jace's hand Amelia planted a kiss on her forehead.

"Don't give up on us Jace." Obi-Wan whispered. "Please."
