Punishment

(Marcie's pov)

"Oh honey. That isn't who you think it is." i said, trying to hide my nervousness. 

"Your uncle and your cousin look somewhat like them. We don't know them. I'm so sorry."

"Oh."

The lady said. I figured it out! She was Ry's girlfriend!

I practically dragged Jake back to the bike.

I biked into the forest, and sized him up next to a tree.

"What do you think you just did!?" i roared.

He started to cry. "I-I'm sorry mommy the man, Ryan, looked like my birth dad.

I'm sorry i let you down." (Note Jake is sucking up to her to get out of a punishment

to free the prisoners) "oh honey. I'm so sorry. i just thought you were going to tell her."
His eyes widened. "Oh no! you took me in! of course not."

(Jake's pov)

She brought me to the house and she told me she still had to punish me.

"I still have to punish you.", She said, "But i'll make it little. Okay, baby?"

"okay mommy."

I said. 

She had me sit on the couch in a time-out for an hour. 

Wow. i thought. so creative with the punishments.

Once that was over, She fell asleep. 

I made sure she was asleep before i freed the man and the girl.

I made sure they got out safely. Then i assured them i'd be right behind them.

I went back in. i layed on the couch. i heard Marcie get up to check on me.

i froze and pretended to be asleep. "Goodnight baby." She said.

Then she went into the cell room. She screamed. A blood-curling scream.

I opened my eyes and rushed into the room.

"Mommy, what happened?!" i screamed and began to fake-cry.

"They escaped. How?" She looked at me, fake crying in the corner.

"You didn't do it, did you?"

She picked me up and hugged me.

"Now they know where i am. hmm... i guess i'll have to seal it off so no one can get in..."

No! i screamed in my head. 

She broke the lever on the inside. "Now, it won't work." she nodded, satisfied. 

"Go back to bed, sweetie."

She went back into her room, and layed down. i

took off the huge picture in the mantle. 

I began to dig. twice i heard her get up and twice i had to go lay back down.

i finally thought to write a note to her. it said,

I have your son. if you come looking for him,

he will be executed.

then i climbed up the tunnel and filled some of it back in.
