All the 7th years followed Lupin up many flights of stairs until they reached a large painting of four people. Two men, two women. One Godric Gryffindor, one Helga Hufflepuff, one Salazar Slytherin and the last Rowena Ravenclaw. They sat around a table with the background of the great hall. Rowena stood up and walked around the table. "Make lines, Ravenclaws, Gryffindors, Slytherins and Hufflepuffs." Everyone filed into four lines as the other three founders stood up. "Alright," Helga said, clapping her small hands together, "The dorms are boys and girls still, but the houses you were previously in mean nothing, they only matter to classes." Salazar took over. "Some of you shouldn't be here. Because of the big war things got... mucked up. Those of you who were meant to have left the school already come to the front of the lines, those who are meant to be here go to the back." There was the sound of people shuffling around.
At the front of the lines was Harry, Draco, Hannah Abbot and another Ravenclaw boy. Godric stepped forward now and opened his mouth to speak before Rowena put up her hand. "I'll explain Godric," he crossed his arms and sat down again. "The boys dorms. In dorm 100 is Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Neville Longbottom, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter. Please stand over there. Dorm 101 Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Micheal Corner, Anthony Rickett, and Theodore Nott." The list went on and many people from different houses were sorted into fives. Once the male returning 7th years were grouped they were allowed into the very large common room to await further instructions from their 'Guardian' Proffesor Lupin.
Rowena moved on to the returning females. "In dorm 117, Hermione Granger, Hannah Abbot, Susan Bones, Padma Patil, and Parvati Patil." Those girls all huddled by the door waiting to go in. A little while later the were sent in.
Left outside was the ones who were always supposed to be here. "I think we'll do ladies first this time." Helga said, taking over from Rowena. "In dorm room 156, Ginevra Weasley, Luna Lovegood, May Winchester, Chloe Pommel, and Adriana Knight." Ginny and Luna came together and smiled at one another, happy to be in a dorm together.
It took a while but soon everyone was sorted. The girls had rejoined their class mates and waited for the boys. Once they did everyone was instructed by Lupin to sit in their dorm groups. "Now that we are all settled, I want to explain something. In previous years you have been two separate year groups, but not any more. From now on you much treat each other like one year group. Also you have mixed dorms, don't worry, we don't expect you to all get immediately but we do not want any fights. All of the fighting is done, so please, don't restart it." He said. He had almost lost his ex wife Nymphadora Tonks in the war, and after it they had divorced from the pressure, and Tonks had recently come out at bisexual. "I'm sure you all know the rule and everything by now, some halls are still being rebuilt so anywhere that had a "do not enter" sign near it, please don't enter. I'm sure you're all tired so I'll let you go to bed, please all be in here tomorrow at 11:30 sharp, I have timetable and some important things to go over with you." He paused and smiled. "Goodnight."
Everyone rose to leave and there was a hustle and bustle of many students. Harry stayed behind to talk to Lupin. "Professor Lupin?" Lupin turned around and smiled. They embraced in a warm hug, the last remaining marauder. "How are you holding up?" He asked. Lupin smiled and nodded. "How's Teddy?" Harry sat down and didn't notice Draco hiding in the doorway. "Teddy's great, staying with his mum and grandparents, because, you know, I can't take care of a baby here." He joked. Teddy was barely a year old. Draco leaned against the door to hard and it creaked when it opened. Lupin and Harry looked at him and he nervously waved. "Um- I- have you seen Auntie Andy lately?" Lupin smiled as Draco walked over and sat down. "Mum wants to see if they can rekindle there sistership. She really misses her." Lupin smiled again and nodded. "I'm going to see Teddy next Saturday, would you both like to come?" "My mum can't leave the house remember?" "I do remember, but Andromeda could always go and see her."
Both boys smiled and walked up to their dorm. "Thank you, for keeping my parents with me." Draco said. "I'm sorry about Pansy and Blaise's parents. I'm going to try my best to help Theodore's dad." Draco nodded. "Thank you."
