Mairin's POV~~~
2 days later...

Ash's travels here was delayed a day due to bad weather. I wish he had never came.

I was standing in front of the castle with Father, Lisa, Lena, and a couple of other guards and maids. I looked at the beginning of our driveway, and in a carriage, came Ash and his Father.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, Queen Delia is coming as well." Father nudged me. Well at least it wasn't all men. Delia is Ash's Mother. Delia is a sweet woman, but she tends to talk a lot.

A guard hopped out of the carriage and opened the door. First came the king, the queen, and then Ash. I groaned and Father hit me on the arm.

"King William!" Ash's father yelled. "King Zachary!" Father and the King shook hands. Ash walked up with his mother. I'm not gonna lie, but Ash has sure grown some muscle..what?! What the hell am I saying?!

I shook off the thought and watched some maids grab our Royal allies' things.

"Princess Mairin." I looked over and saw Ash grinning. I wanted to run away and cry. "Prince Ash.." I grumbled. "What's the matter?" He cupped my cheek, but I took his hand and placed it down. "I don't want to marry you!" I scoffed. "Oh I'm sorry, but orders are orders. And I'd love to marry someone like you! Look at what a fine lady you've grown into!" I caught him staring at my chest and quickly turned around.

"Leave me alone!" I said. Ash grabbed my arm and spun me around. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. I gagged, trying not to throw up. I can not live like this! No way!!

Dinner was far worse, I had to sit by Ash. The cooks made meatloaf–my least favorite food, but Ash's favorite.

"Looks good! Thank you!" Ash said. We all bowed our heads and began to eat. I started eating my mashed potatoes, then my green beans. I had not touched my meatloaf. Just looking at it is making me sick.

"Mairin? Why are you not eating your meatloaf?" Delia asked, causing everyone to look my way. Just great! "I-I'm n-not very hungry.." I lied. I caught Father's eye and he was not happy.

"I'll eat it!" Ash offered. King Zachary glared at his son. I tried so hard not to laugh. I took a sip of my milk and turned to everyone. "I'm going to my room–I don't feel good.." I got up and tried to keep in posture as I walked out of the dining room.

I ran to my room, flopped on the bed and immediately picked up my phone. I was going to call my best friend, Serena.

"I still can't believe you're going to marry Ash!" Serena squealed. Serena has always had a crush on Ash. She met him once when she came over. She probably wouldn't be able to marry him, since she's a villager. "I don't want to marry him! I just want to escape from this.." I sighed. "I'd love to take your place!" She giggled. "Trust me, you don't!" I said. "Trust me, I do!" She smiled through the phone. "I just wish I could run away, ya know?" I said. "Then why don't you?" Serena said. "What?!" I gasped. "Yeah, it's easy!" She replied. "All ya gotta do is pack a bag and try to escape! You can come over to my place!" She said.

"I don't know..I mean, what would happen if they found out?" I asked. Serena sighed. "Fine, I'll run away." I said.

We said our goodbyes and hung up.

I ran to my closet and packed a few things.

I can't believe I'm doing this...
