Author's Note: This chapter is supposed to focus on Esther and Mordecai's reunion after 7 months of Esther's departure to the palace.

There it was- the golden crown. It was glistening as they gracefully brought it before me. I smiled in pride. They placed it upon my head. It was a perfect fit. My lady in waiting held the ends of my perfect golden dress, as if I was a bride, and helped me gently sit on my perfect golden chair.

"Smile my queen," she insisted. "You will now reign this kingdom."

I softly opened my eyes. It was all a dream. I wasn't really crowned the queen of Persia.

I took a heavy sigh and went to glare out the window. All these treatments and exercises withheld me from noting how beautiful the palace really was. The moon seemed as if only a few inches above me.

"God, your creation is praiseworthy," I smiled at the stars.

There was a light knock on my door.

"Who is it at this time of night?" I answered.

The door opened slightly and Hegai marched towards me.

"Esther," he smiled.

"Good evening Hegai," I bowed, "What can I do you for?"

"I see you're yet asleep."

"I awoke from a dream and could no longer return to bed."

"Aah"

"And so, I'm staring at the stars. They are just right above me."

"The palace is a beautiful view isn't it?"

"It sure is. How about you? What's your excuse?" I smirked.

"Actually, I came to notify you that someone is here to see you."

"Really, who?"

"Lord Mordecai."

"My uncle? He-he's here?"

"Right outside the gates."

"Oh thank you," I started towards the door.

"Esther," he called after me.

"Yes Hegai," I turned to face him.

"You are different my dear. Since the beginning, with the carvings in your flower, I knew you were unique. You are truly special."

I smiled. "That means a lot Hegai. Thank you."

"One more thing," he called.

I turned gently, although groaning at the bottom of my heart.

"Keep an eye on the clock. Make it back before 11 sharp."

"Yes indeed," I bowed.

I ran outside the dark gates and retrieved Mordecai sitting on the bench before the entrance. I flung myself into his arms.

"Uncle!" I exclaimed. "You're here."

"My dear Esther," he exhaled in relief.

"It's been 7 months. Oh how wonderful to see you!"

"You have changed. You have changed so much!" he exclaimed as he examined me while slowly turning me around.
"And it looks like you have a new glow!"

"Oh that's all the treatments we've been receiving."

"I doubt it. You've always been precious."

I smiled.

"Who would have thought?" he shook his head in disbelief, "my young girl has become a palace candidate- a queen in training."

"It's a world of fantasy on the other side of these gates uncle."
