Rebirth of a Legend

How It All Started

That dreaded day all started not long after Ash had returned home after his defeat in the Kalos league, but that didn't change how he felt though cause before he left he received a kiss from Serena. A girl he had previously traveled with and hope to see her again. Now as we continue on we can see our hero Ash Ketchum with his trusty partner Pikachu at the mall with his mother Delia Ketchum a bright full woman who always seemed to have a smile on her face, and think everything will turn out alright. She was your average looking woman mid 30's, ginger hair with a few gray hairs mixed within in a pony tail, as she wore a pink blouse with a yellow shirt underneath, and blue skirt. She also had with her, a amazingly noble Mr. Mime with her caring their bags. Now why they are at the mall was to do the dreaded act that every man feared with their lives. Shopping.

We then hear our hero struggle to break free from the beasts death grip around his wrist with his life." Mom but I don't want to go shopping!"

His mother who was clearly starting to get agitated with her sons consistent bickering for the past said to him " Fine if you don't wanna go it's okay i'm about to be done anyways just gotta go to one more store then we'll get something to eat." With a smile on her face

"Great" Ash exclaimed as he started to book it to the arcade not far away as he hears his mother yell " I'll come back to get you in 20 minutes " as she and Mr. Mime waved him off.

After about 30 minutes of playing some video games,  he stopped and wondered what was taking his mother so long. that's when Ash started to notice some people running out in the hall outside the Arcade towards. Until suddenly the pair heard a loud explosion. With only one thought crossing Ash's mind at the time "Mom". Not even a moment pasted by where we see Ash burst from the Arcade with Pikachu by his side with the same worried. They ran, and ran until they were in the front of the shop where it was almost completely destroyed with lots of smoke and dust coming out the top, and could here sirens within the distance. The pair didn't even hesitate and entered the destroyed entrance.

"Mom!" "Pika!" the two yelled to see if they could get a response. Then suddenly they could hear coughing loud violent coughing. "Mom!" "Pika!" they both yelled going over a few broken slabs of concrete they saw something that would haunt their nightmares until the day they die. 

Delia was on the ground with a few scrapes all over her body and blood everywhere, but the piece that caught Ash's attention was a piece of re bar trough his mother abdomen. He was shocked to see what has happened. He then slowly ignoring everything around him and said a very quiet "Mom?" as he inched forward towards his mother.

As he dropped to his knee's next to his mother and held her hand within his own, with tears running down his face. He noticed his mother head turn towards him as she slowly opened her eye's that became teary as she put a smile on her face.

"Hi honey" Delia said weakly to her son. He couldn't respond at all, he just whimpered while grasping his mother's hand. "Honey" Delia began to speak weakly to her son. " I never wanted you to experience, seeing me like this must make your heart break?" Ash still didn't respond, he just kept bawling his eye's out. "Before I go I want you to know that you make me so happy inside. Going after your dreams just like how your father once did, and how far you've come so quickly." She had said as her eyes began to get heavier, and heavier by the second. "Now Pikachu, please take care of our trouble maker okay?" who has been right by Ash and Delia side the hole time, bawling his eye's out as well nodded his head in response. She then began to cough violently as she started to speak again. "Now Ash I want you to always remember even when i'm no longer gonna be here .... . To always change your underwear and that I will always love you." 

As her eye's began to close and her grasp around her son's hand began to loosen, all Ash could do was watch as he lost. Then Ash began to whisper to the wind " I will always love you too, Mom."

It was the day after the incident. The day of his mothers funeral. It was reported on the news last night that it was speculated that Team Rocket was behind the attack at the local shopping mall, and that his mother with the assistance of her Mr. Mime saved many people, but at the cost of her own life. His face showed barely any emotion at all, and it seemed that he had been crying all night. His friend's which consisted of Brock, Misty, Gary and Prof. Oak,  with many people who Delia had saved  along with all of ash's Pokemon were there to help him grieve. He didn't listen to them or anything at all, even if he wanted to.

When the funeral was over Ash said his last goodbyes to his mother then went home alongside Pikachu as they headed, for what ash only knew for the last time in a long time.

When he got home he started to pack some of his belonging's which perked his Pikachu interest and began to walk up to his partner to see if he is okay. 

"Pika pi" Pikachu had said in a slight curious tone to his master.

"It's okay Pikachu, I'll tell you along with the rest later tonight." Ash said with a slight smile on his face as he placed his hand on the side of the side of the yellow rodent's head's. Just by seeing his partner start to cheer up immediately it had responded with a smile and began to rub it's cheek against his partner's hand.

It was midnight the town was quiet except for a few Krickitune's playing their songs in the near by forest. He had waited until everyone was asleep and snuck away to Prof. Oak's lab.

When he got their and finally gathered all his Pokemon he breathed in heavily and exhaled as he got ready to explain what his plan was then spoke. "Okay guys after what has recently happened I decided that I will be leaving. To go on a journey to help me clear my head, I don't know or when i'll be back or even if I will come back" before he could finish he started to notice sad looks on all his Pokemon face's , then suddenly as if he already he knew the answer to the question he was going to ask. "So that's why I want to ask will any of you join me?" Ash had asked his Pokemon and without even a moment in between they all cheered which was worried Ash cause he didn't want anyone to wake. Quickly after hushing all his Pokemon and returning them one by one to their Pokeball's. 

When that was done he started to walk to the exit of pallet with his pal on his shoulder. As they got to the top of the hill that was the exit of Pallet Town over looking the hole town. As he over looked the small town the sun started to shine over it that brought a small smile upon his face as he remembered all the good times he had there, where his journey all began. As he turned around he started to tear up without Pikachu noticing as he began his new journey.

:End of Flashback:

" It was nice seeing you again, Mom" as he started to get up with Pikachu jumping on his shoulder as he started to exit the cementary. He looked back to his mother's grave he stated to her " I'll be back soon and when I do come back you'll see me as the winner of the world Pokemon world tournament" as he put a smile on his face as he released his Charizard and off they went to Alola to participate in the world tournament.
