Gajeel's POV

What the hell is going on? Mavis was silent, Zeref had a look of shame, Aries looked pissed, and the hooded girl was still crying. It had started to rain, an instant down pour, as I took a step towards her. I don't know why, but I wanted to calm her. Who was she?

"Mavis, just tell me why," the girl cried out as she suddenly collapsed. Mud covered her cloak. A broken leg poked out from behind her, the white cast growing dark from the wet ground. A heavily bandaged hand caught her before she could face plant the soft earth below her. What happened to her? She was clearly injured. Not minor injuries either.

"I did it for you, sweetheart." Mavis moved towards the girl. "I did all of it so you could have the life you deserve."

"Don't come near me!" The small woman screamed suddenly. "I don't want your lying, scheming hands on me."

I looked at Mavis. Tears fell from her eyes as she twiddled her thumbs. Her gaze was on the ground before her. The wind played with her long, wavy, blonde hair and snatched at her black sun dress. Rain soaked her from head to toe as it had all of us.

Mavis took another step towards the girl causing her to flinch and try to back away. Fear radiated from her. Tears fell from hidden eyes to speckle the fabric of the hooded cape just under the girl's chin. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!"

That voice. Everything in me wanted her to be Levy. I missed the short girl. I wanted her back. My heart began to hurt. My knees gave out. Liquid slid from my eyes. I wanted my Shrimp back.

"Gajeel!" The hooded figure tried to stand up. To come near me. She knew me? How?

"Who- who are you?" My voice broke.

I wanted to run.

I wanted to punch something.

I wanted answers.

Levy's POV

I watched as Gajeel stared at me in fear. He had no idea what was going on. He could hear my voice, recognize it, but refused to believe I was really there.

"Gajeel," I turned to the large man. "I promise you that you will have the answer to your question soon. For now, please stand up. It hurts me to see you so broken, Gajeel. I need you to be the strong, arrogant asshole you always were. Please stand up."

"Huh?" The man was so confused. He sat in the mud, scared to move or even to regain his stance. I couldn't stand up on my own and Aries had promised not to interfere with any part of it once we reached the graveyard, so I sat just feet away from him in the mud as well. I let out a sigh as I tried to think of a way to get him to help me.

"Why is this happening?" He asked, quietly.

I could feel my anger growing at the pain I heard in his voice. I tried to stand up again, but fell. Mud soaked my bandages and pain ate at my entire body as I moaned and tried to stand up once more only to fall again, but this time two large arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me up. They were so warm and made me feel so safe. The scars alone told me who they belonged to. Gajeel.

"Who are ya and what the hell is going on here?" His voice sounded angry and full of pain, the confusion was giving him a headache. "Why are ya crashing her funeral? Can't ya see how hurt everyone is? Why are ya making it worse?"

Looking around, I could see tears staining the faces of so many people. My own father lay weeping upon the casket filled with sand. Laxus stood with Gajeel's friends looking from the scene to the grave stone almost as if apologizing to the glossy marble for the actions of the stranger before them. Zeref and Mavis wouldn't meet anyone's eyes knowing all too well why I was there. My classmates and previous customers all stood staring at me with accusatory eyes as I smirked under the hood.
