I had thought a lot about what Niall had said the past couple days. Could a miracle actually happen? Was it possible that something good may happen like surviving cancer or maybe even a family member coming to visit? It seemed unlikely but Niall gave the impression that he highly believed it. Niall hadn't come back either which sort of disappointed me because I hate to say it but, I didn't mind him. It's weird for me too so shut up. Niall seemed different. Not just an average teenager who regarded upon me as a charity case. Clearly though, he wasn't much different because he never returned.

I had started a new book, Insurgent. Someone knocked on my door. "Come in!" I shouted from my bed.

In walked Niall, hiding something behind his back. My eyes lit up and I sat up. He handed over a small black book with five stickers and I began to beam. It was the Divergent notebook that had the faction stickers and movie posters. He took a seat at the end of my bed as I flipped through the crisp pages. The next thing I knew I was hugging him excitedly. "You didn't have to." I murmured.

"I know, but I wanted to," He began. "and I was hoping that maybe you'd want to come to the concert tonight?"

I pulled away and gave him a seriously? look. "You know I hate One Direction." I stated.

"I know but I really want you to be there, it would mean the world to me." He pleaded.

"You know I can't leave the hospital." I replied, knowing he could never come up with an argument against that.

"The concert is here."

Okay, maybe he could come up with an argument.

He gave a puppy dog look. How could I refuse a puppy dog look? I let out a sigh. "Fine." I breathed.

He looked like a kid in a candy store as he firmly enveloped me in an unwanted hug. "Thank you, Cind."

"Whatever, I still hate your stupid band." I responded bitterly.

He chuckled. "I know you do, but I have something special planned."

I raised an eyebrow and he grinned. "I gotta go get ready, see you tonight!" He kissed my forehead before scurrying out.

I sat there stunned. Did Niall Horan kiss my forehead? "Ew!" I squealed while trying to scrub away the residue.

I had tried my hardest to make it seem like I actually cared about this concert. I guess in a way I did. I had begun to consider Niall as more a friend than a parasite on humanity, and this meant a lot to him so maybe I cared slightly. I had picked out one of my less casual outfits, a pair of grey skinny jeans, a black tank top and a leatherman jacket. Okay, so it was still fairly casual, but a nice kind of casual.

Niall had told me that they were doing their concert at one of the waiting rooms. I know it sounds small but it's one of our larger waiting areas which is why it surprised me when I saw how crowded it was. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I quickly spun on my heel to find myself in front of Niall and the rest of the band. Curly, the one also known as Harry, looked less than thrilled to see me. Tight Pants, also known as Louis, also looked displeased based upon the scowl he wore. The other two, who I was trying to think of creative names for, looked fairly neutral, like Switzerland. "You brought us to see this girl why, Niall?" Curly spoke in his thick accent.

"Because I wanted you to formally meet Cindy." I crossed my arms, unamused to have to share my precious air supply with these males.

"Oh we met, she slammed a door in our face, remember?" Louis sounded ticked off.

"I found it rather amusing." I teased, earning myself a death glare from Louis and Harry.

"I'm Liam," The lesser tattooed of the two Switzerlands held out a hand. "It's nice to finally meet you."

Tattoo sleeves held out his hand also. "Name's Zayn, love, sorry we got off on the wrong foot."

I nodded and shook each of their hands and turned to Harry and Louis. "You really gonna keep being so immature? I slammed a door in your face, big deal, I'm a bitter person." I stated.

The two rolled their eyes. "I'm going to go check in with the band." Harry strode off, Louis hot on his trail.

"Don't mind them," Liam reassured. "They're not used to meeting people who aren't head over heals in love with them."

I chuckled. Niall smiled, "So we'll be on in a few, I saved you a spot up front."

I mentally facepalmed. Great. Now people would know I went to a One Direction concert. "Thanks." I murmured reluctantly.

The three boys ran off and I returned to the crowd, pushing and shoving to the front where sure enough there was a chair with the words Reserved for Cindy marked. I sat down and crossed my legs, hoping no one would notice me. I heard the familiar tune to Best Song Ever chime through the room and the once fairly quiet chatter retreated to squeals.

I had agreed to this why?

The boys entered out onto the stage that had clearly been crafted by the technicians or hospital staff. "Hello Vancouver General Hospital!" Harry called out as they began to sing the song.

Niall winked my way when he noticed me in the audience. After they had finished the song the boys were talking when Niall took the lead. "Guys, I want to dedicate this song to one of the patients."

I looked around as girls held their breath, hoping it to be them. The tempo to Stand Up began to play. "This one is for Cindy." He smiled down at me, holding out his hand to me.

I jumped onto stage with him as the song began.

Well people are going to know now.

Suddenly I felt the world slowing. The lights glowing around Niall and I, as if we were the only two in the world. My heart beat echoed in my ears as he leaned closer to me. I felt our lips briefly meet.

Everyone would know now for sure.
