After Father and I ate dinner, I headed up to my bedchamber and told him that I was going to bed early. After that, I waited till midnight, I was so excited and it kept me up without falling asleep once. When it was time, I almost literally squealed with excitement, jumping out of bed I got on my heels and quietly snuck out of my bedchamber without the soldiers and Templars noticing me.
When I got to the fountain, I was surprised to see Arno already there, sitting on the side of the fountain with a glint in his eye.
"You made it, mademoiselle." He said to me, I blushed, awkwardly finding a spot next to him.
"Of course I would, I was actually surprised to see you already here."
He chuckled, "Well why wouldn't I, I was so excited to meet you here."
My heart fluttered, "Oh, well that's funny. I was quite excited to meet up with you too. Come to think of it, being excited for things really can keep you up all night."
He laughs, "Yeah, it really does doesn't it? So, what would you like to chat about on this fabulous night?"
I looked down, thinking. Then I got it, "What do you do for a living?"
When I looked up at him, he had a different expression on his face, though I couldn't read it.
"It is... complicated. How about you? What do you do as a royal now a days?"
I sighed, "Oh the usual things. I'll help sort the soldiers in their places, help my father out, I am training how to be a lord at the moment too. It's really stressing, but I need to learn it."
He nods, "That seems stressing."
"Oh, you don't know a thing about stress in my dictionary."
We laughed a little. I could find myself getting more comfortable around him. At first, I was awkward and embarrassed yet excited and jumpy all the same, but now I am starting to get more comfortable and at ease and our conversations flow more nicely now. It was already starting to get easy, and it was only our first night together.
"So, can we meet up again? Here, at this same place, I find it really fun to hang out with you?"
I blushed at his words, but I only nod solemnly. "Yeah I would love to. Want to do it tomorrow night?"
He seemed to relax then, looking relieved, "Tonight it is, au revoir mon ami."
He gets up and smiles down at me. Just as I get up, I feel warm soft lips press against my cheek. I blushed fiercely, realizing that he was kissing me then.
When he parted, he too was blushing a little. When he walked away, he waved back at me.
I waved back, still in shock. When he was out of sight, I lightly pressed on my cheek where he had kissed me. I squealed silently, walking back to the castle. He kissed me, he actually kissed me. I said in my head. I entered through the window of my bedchamber, climbing from the vines below.
I got into my bedchamber, I sighed with relief when I fell into my bed. Just as I hit one of my soft pillows, I was already asleep.
*The Time Skip by your's truly EZIO OUT!*
"Master Yuki, time to get up." A woman's voice said. My eyes snapped open, looking up into my maid, Abrielle's soft green eyes.
"Morning, Elle." I say, groaning when I lifted myself forcefully out of my bed. She looks down at me with concern.
"Were you up all night? You have bags under your eyes." She asks me, and I suddenly slip the covers from underneath me to check myself in the mirror.
I definitely had bags under my eyes, but it wasn't too terrible. I looked back at Abrielle and shrugged,
"Oh, that. I didn't sleep to good last night, that probably caused the bags."
She nodded slowly, "Okay, well I have your clothes right here. Get dressed, your father wants you, he's in the throne room."
I nodded, feeling a sudden feeling of worry. What did Father need me for this time? I asked myself, as I got myself dressed in the morning white gown Abrielle had set for me.
Just as I had zipped the zipper of the morning gown, I rushed downstairs to the throne room, surprised to see my father laughing with another man.
The man had a strong build, his dark brown hair and icy blue eyes had almost paralyzed me to the bone. He had a handsome face, perfect skin, and when he had laughed he showed off some perfect white teeth. He had seemed to be wearing a soldier attire, from Italy, I assumed. But there he was, laughing along with Father. Even though he was very charming, I seemed to like Arno better, and he had even seemed more charming than this strange man's appearance.
I quickly pranced down the quartz staircase, running my fingers over the railing. As I finally got down the stairs, my father and this strange man had beckoned me over to them. I smiled nervously at my father,
"What a big surprise, who is this Father?" I say as I walk over to them. Father chuckled with a glint in his eye,
"Why dear this is Sir Aceline Cormac, he has come from all the way from Italy to meet your presence. We were talking about marriage proposals just before you came. Sir Aceline Cormac, this is my beautiful daughter, Mistress Yuki Neige. Yuki my sweet, don't be shy, greet the young man politely." Father ordered me calmly, waving his hand over at the handsome soldier.
I came over to him, smiling warmly. "What a pleasure to meet you, Sir Aceline. Like Father said, I am Mistress Yuki Neige, or heir to the Grand Master of The Templar Order and the daughter of Grand Master Abel Neige."
I bowed politely, when I looked back at the man he smiled, "Pleasure is all mine, Miss Yuki Neige. Would it be mindful if I just called you Yuki? I am not very good at holding it at big names with people, I'd just rather call someone only by their first names."
I nodded, "No of course not, I feel more comfortable with being called by just Yuki, thank you for asking."
He nods, "You're welcome. I was quite excited to meet you here, Yuki. Your father is quite a treat to talk with. You as well is such a treat to have conversations with." He says, lowering his face over to my hands, I hand them to him, he grins and lowers his face down to kiss them. When his soft lips touched my hands, I almost blushed.
When he lifted his face back up, I heard my father giggle a little. We both turned our attention to him, he flushed, shifting awkwardly in his throne.
"My apologies, It's just so exciting to see you both getting so along so quickly. Anyways I have arranged a date with you two," He says and my jaw immediately fell from my face,
"Date?" I breathed, he smiled, but his eyes were showing a warning glare.
"Yes my sweet. Tomorrow afternoon, out by our garden. How does a tea party sound to you both? Yuki, my dear you can finally brag about your flowers then?"
Sir Aceline smiled warmly at him, "Tea sounds great, your majesty. I'll be here at 12:00 sharp, how does that sound to you, Yuki?" He turned his attention to me, I gulped,
"S-sure, tea. Yeah, sounds great." I managed to stammer out, he chuckled warmly,
"Awesome! I'll see you then, Yuki." He says. He then bowed and waved back at us as the guards escorted him out.
I looked back at Father, glaring at him, "Father! What is this, a date with someone I just knew, how could you? You promised me Father, that I could find myself a man that I can slowly come to be fond of later on, you promised!"
He frowned, getting out of his chair, he cleared his throat,
"My dear, you had to at least have had a little bit of notice of starting to talk about marriage discussions sooner or later haven't you? If you don't think he's the right man, you can go out after the date and tell me. I'll have a scheduled carriage the next morning if so, we both together can go to a town just south of the castle and you can find a man then, how does that sound?"
My glare did not fade, but my eyes softened, "Okay, Father. If I don't like this man, I'll give you notice." I eventually say, he smiled,
"Thank you, Yuki. But you have to promise me something," He paused, I nodded, "You have to at least give him a chance, he's a really good man I tell you. Really charming, promise?"
I nodded, "I promise, Father."
"Good, okay now go to Abrielle, she'll help you pick out a dress for tomorrow's date."
I nodded and slowly walked up the stairs, surprise still filtered throughout my body. This man will never make me happy, just pretend to give him a chance that's all. I say to myself. I knew there was only one man to make me happy, and that was Arno.Word Count: 1596
