"hey man, what are you doing we have practice?"

leaving my peaceful trance, I wipe a tear from my cheek that somehow escaped and turned around.

"just thinking, watching the sunrise."

"I know it's been rough for you this week, being two years and all, and if you need anything at all, a drink, some extra BP, a shoulder to cry on, a shoulder to punch, anything I'm here for you."

"thanks Joc, but I think I'm doing alright, but I know this practice will help, let's go."

I stand up from the chair and grab my bag, and take one last look at the beautiful sky, which is now a light blue.

it reminds my of her eyes.

that's why I barely it acknowledge Trayce and Alex when I get out to the car.

her eyes haunt me when I close mine. I see her in everything. everything makes me miss her.

the past two weeks have been hard, it's been two years since I heard her laugh, felt her lips on mine.

god, how I long to feel her skin on mind once more.

I close my eyes, the consistent sound of the tires against the tar and the soft music soothe me and I fall asleep with my head against the window.

"Corey, you wanna play 2K?" Joc yelled from the kitchen.

"sure man, just bring me a beer and I'll be game."

practice kicked my ass today, I stayed after normal practice to lift and get some extra B.P. in, so to say I'm tired in an understatement.

I was starting to doze off when I felt the couch sink next to me and a cold bottle fall into my lap.

Joc took a deep breath before saying, "have you ever thought that maybe you could just call her?"

I opened my mouth to reply but was cut off by a voice in the doorway,

"I'm sure this week is rough for her too man, maybe you should."

I turned to see Trayce and Alex in the doorway looking at me with that goddamn look of pity in their eyes.

"I can't and you guys know that, she does not want to hear from me. even if I tried to call, I'm sure she's changed her number by now."

Alex spoke up saying, "alright, we just want you to know that we're here for you. we know you're mad, anybody could tell that by the way you practiced today. but, we can also tell you're sad, we can see it in your eyes. if you want to talk, I'm here, Trayce's here, and so is Joc, and basically anybody on the team."

"we all love you man, don't bottle up those emotions because we're here," Joc put his hand on my shoulder as I just stared at my feet.

"thanks guys, that means a lot, but right now I just want to kick your asses in 2k, so sit down and let's go."
