1925
It was early in the morning when Grandpa Jack was up even before the paperboy delivered the morning paper at the Johnson Household. After bidding goodbye to the paperboy, Grandpa Jack went into the kitchen and began preparing breakfast.
Meanwhile, in his granddaughter's bedroom, Elizabeth, now seven-years-old was already up and was standing in front of her bed, looking over the two dresses she had laid out. Glancing over at the clock on her wall, she realizes that Bucky would be arriving shortly to walk her to school.
She looks back at the dresses and swiftly puts on a light pink dress and her shoes before joining Grandpa Jack in the kitchen who is cooking up a storm.
"Good morning, grandpa!" Elizabeth greeted. "Good morning, Elizabeth. Would you like some pancakes?" he asked her. Elizabeth shook her head. "No thank you. Bucky should be here-"
A loud knock sounded on the front door. Elizabeth runs over to the door. She opens it to see Bucky, smiling at her. "Good morning, Lizzie," he greeted. Elizabeth smiled. "Good morning, Bucky."
Elizabeth grabs her jacket and Bucky helps her put it on. She then puts on her schoolbag. "Bye grandpa!" she cried out.
"Elizabeth, wait!"
Elizabeth stops and turns around in time to catch an apple that Grandpa Jack had thrown at her, "Eat that on the way, okay?" Elizabeth nodded, "Okay, grandpa. I will be home after three," she said.
"Bye Grandpa Jack!" Bucky cried out before closing the door after him and Elizabeth. "Bye Elizabeth! Bye Bucky!"
Elizabeth and Bucky ran down the steps and walked side by side down the sidewalk. Shortly, they arrived at their school before the bell rang, bidding goodbyes before going their separate ways.

The bell sounded off, making Elizabeth smile. It was time for recess, which was her favorite activity of the day since she got to see Bucky.
She walks out of the cafeteria with the other students and spots Bucky by the playground. She smirks as she slowly walks over and quietly stands behind him. She raised her hand and tapped his shoulder. Bucky turns around and immediately smiles down at her.
"Hello, Liz-"
"TAG!" She shouted, tapping his chest. Elizabeth then sprinted off, "You are it!" she shouted. Bucky chuckles before sprinting off after her. Elizabeth looked behind her and let out a laugh a shriek when she that Bucky was getting closer.
Bucky pushed himself and smirked when he gained speed as he ran faster with his hand stretched out. He tapped Elizabeth's back and stopped running as he let out a cheer. Elizabeth stopped and turned around to face him. Bucky chuckled when he saw that she was pouting. "You are it," he whispered.
Elizabeth's pout turns into a smile as the two let out a laugh. Elizabeth's eyes traveled over Bucky's shoulder and she immediately stops laughing at the scene that was happening not too far from them. Bucky noticed her expression and turned his head as he followed her eyesight.
Charles and his friend, William, were huddling around a younger, shorter, boy. Bucky's smile turned into a scowl as he glared at Charles, the boy who had stolen Elizabeth's animal crackers in pre-school.
"Bucky," Elizabeth said softly, making him drop his scowl as he looked back at her. She gazed into his eyes, "We have to help the poor boy that Charles is picking on." Bucky agreed with her, "Then, let's go help the boy."
Bucky took Elizabeth's hand into his and together they walked over to Charles and William. As Elizabeth and Bucky got closer, they hear Charles, demanding lunch money from the shorter boy.
