"What do you want?" you called out, unsure if you were still upset about his earlier comments.

He didn't answer, opening the door to your room and slipping into bed next to you. "I'm sorry." He murmured as he wrapped his arm around your waist, taking the position of big spoon.

"It's fine" you mumbled, rolling over to look him in the eye. "You don't have to protect me, Hoseok. It's not your job. You're my best friend, not my dad."

His eyes dropped, "I know. I just don't want to ever see you that sad again. It felt like my heart was breaking along with you."

You brushed a stray piece of hair out of his eyes, "Hoseok, we have been best friends for years. And I love you dearly, but you have to stop taking on my problems. It's my life."

Your best friend buried his face into your neck, "I know. I know." He sighed, rolling over to get out of your bed, but you grabbed him by the wrist.

"Where are you going?" You asked and he shrugged. "Stay here with me."

Hoseok smiled, clearly giving into your puppy dog eyes, "Fine, but just for tonight."

You gestured for him to adjust his position, letting you rest on his shoulders as the rest of your body curled into your chest. "You're warm." You mumbled, suddenly becoming overwhelmed with comfort and sleep. You heard him whisper a response, but your tired ears couldn't make out a word of it.

And when you woke up the next morning your bed was empty. You padded through the apartment, realizing Hoseok must have gotten up before his alarms. He didn't have class until the afternoon and you were looking forward to making him coffee as a thank you for dinner last night.

Instead, you dragged yourself to lab and prepared yourself for one of Yoongi's interrogations. You hated the first lab of the semester. Listening to the same lecture every single semester about lab safety, remind you to take your quizzes otherwise you couldn't participate in class. The awkward TA's who's voice shook as they introduced themselves, offering office hours that you knew no one actually went to.

As you expected Yoongi's eyes were locked onto you as you walked towards the empty seat next to him, automatically assuming that the two of you were going to be lab partners for the 5th semester in a row.

"Are you going to tell me why you were wearing Jungkook's sweatshirt in lecture the other day?" He whispered as the TA went over the syllabus.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Yoongi kicked the back of your chair, "He practically lives in that thing and you were wearing it."

You scribbled down a few notes on the syllabus, making sure the TA at least thought you were paying attention, "I ran into him at the coffee shop and he spilled my drink all over me. He let me borrow his sweatshirt. How do you know him anyway?"

"Everyone knows him. Are you going to give it back?" He quipped.

You shook your head, "Why do you care Yoongi?"

Out of the corner of your eye you could see him shrug, "I don't know. I would ask Hoseok about that."

You furrowed your eyebrows, unsure of how to take Yoongi's comments. And you couldn't ask Hoseok what he meant by it because the apartment was dark by the time you got home. There was a sinking feeling in your chest that Hoseok was avoiding you. You took a seat on the couch, trying to distract yourself with microbiology, hoping that he would come home soon and the two of you would be able to talk about whatever it was.

"Y/N, wake up" someone whispered as a hand was shaking your shoulder awake. Your eyelids fluttered open to see two sets of eyes staring at you from above. Realizing who they belonged to, you shot up in your seat.

"I passed out." You confessed, running your fingers through your hair.

"I fall asleep studying micro too." Jungkook smiled, as your cheeks turned red.

"What are you doing here?" You blurted out, turning your cheeks into a deep shade of red.

"Jungkook was helping me with some choreography for my auditions." Hosoek answered for him.

"He doesn't need any help though, he's such an amazing dancer. I'm so fucking jealous." Jungkook admitted, taking a seat at the end of the couch next to you.

You watched an unreadable expression spread across Hoseok's face as he saw that he had been banished to the chair. But it was quickly masked as he pulled out his phone, scrolling through whatever app had caught his interest at that time.

"Are you going to Yoongi's party tomorrow?" Jungkook asked as he leaned his head against the back of the couch.

"Y/N never goes out" Hoseok chuckled, "I think hell would have to freeze over for her to actually do anything fun."

"That's not true!" you protested, "I know how to have fun."

Hoseok gave you a look as he set his phone down on his chest, "When was the last time you went out? And staying at the library until close doesn't count."

"I don't know. I don't have the exact date and time memorized, Hobi."

Jungkook laughed as you stuck your tongue out at your roommate. There was nothing that made Hoseok happier than watching you get flustered.

"Asshole" you mutter as you sink down into the cushions.

"You should come, Y/N" Jungkook encouraged, leaning over to nudge your knee with his hand. You tried to maintain normal breathing as he let his hand linger on your kneecap for what seemed like an eternity, "It'll be more fun if you're there"
