I am from Morocco and my name is Ibn Batutta. I am ready to see with my eyes what I have seen in my dreams, in my dreams I flew to Mecca on the wings of a bird.
"Why do you insist on doing hajj now you're only 21 years old, think of what you're giving up, you insist on travelling alone, no one travels alone" said Hamza
"If I die may it be on the road to Mecca" I said replying to him
Standing by the rocks me and Hamza stood together before I left
"If you reach Cairo, WHEN you reach Cairo, you must seek out Ibn Muzafar he's a friend of our family he's a powerful man, give him this letter, and tell him about your dream let's see what he has to say" he said
"I will, I promise" I replied calmly
The hardest thing was saying goodbye to my family but I was also happy because I could make something of myself and make them proud of me as I was vacating. My father gave me some gold in a sack and from my mother I received a Ihram (white fabric) which I will wear when I reach Mecca, I then knew that this was real and I was going to leave my family behind to travel to Mecca to do hajj which is 3000 miles away. Thousands of year's pilgrims have risked their lives to reach Mecca and it is my time to make this beautiful journey and I am determined to make this journey and to succeed. Some make their journey by sea, some by planes, but many more will arrive by foot. Some people say 'standing next to the Kaaba and seeing it changes the heart'. I then set off my journey on my brown and white horse, and also my grey donkey, leaving my family behind, not knowing if we will see each other again.
