The smell of horses and goats filled the hot air which blew in my face. I heard stories about pilgrims seeking refuge from strangers, my pride however had not delivered this far and yet I find myself in Damascus able to continue to Mecca because of a stranger.
The stranger then gave my sack of gold back to me,
"Perhaps you can offer this to the poor" he said putting the small red bag in my hands, I then looked at the bag and looked at him smiling
"Will you not come?"
He then smiled and said "some day"
"Thank you my friend, my brother" I told the man who was still smiling at me
"In 50 days the people will reach Makkah, remember to pray for me as soon as you reach the great city"
Hugging I then jumped onto my white camel and carried on my journey with the rest of the pilgrims.
After we reach the holy Medina we will then finally enter Makkah, there are architects, physicians, poets and even bee keepers I could never have imagined such a community around.
Passing, I looked at the rocks which were urging us to push onto medina without rest.
We sadly wrapped a white cloth around a pilgrim who was with us and buried him. We then set off again.
40 days in the desert the pilgrims grow week, my body is ravaged with fear but I cannot give up, I will not give up. After sitting I got up on my two feet and saw a man saying something from distance, waving his flag he then came closer وصلنا المدينة المنورة ('we have reached medina')
Medina, the holy Medina where the prophet himself (peace be upon him) was under the green tomb, which was also a mosque combined, where we all prayed together.
I turned to the evening sky and saw the new Moon. We must now reach Makkah in 8 days which is when hajj begins. As we depart medina I open the gift from my blessed mother two lengths of pure white cloth and I was reminded of the reason.
