This class feels like its never going to end. I look to the left of me and see a large boy leaning his head on his desk. He appear to be sleeping or close to it. Looking back to the smart board, I realize the professor has put up the homework. Thats the last thing I want to be thinking about on my weekend trip home. I've been looking forward to this all week. Only 37 more minutes I tell my self. You can do it. I quickly jot down the assignment and begin to doodle on the edge of my binder. I'm suppose to be writing an essay on the atomic theory but I feel rebellious at the moment.

All I can picture is the peace and beauty of my home town. Its odd that I've spend most of my teen life trying to get away from it, yet I long to go back. I plan on heading out as soon as I get out of this class. I have all the necessities packed and ready to go. I left Sasha a note even though know she won't see her till she gets back. The only thing I'm really dreading is the train ride there. Sweaty middle aged men in raddy business suits making their usual trip home to their disrespectful kids and angry wives. At least thats what I imagine, one can only guess what someone's life is like.

I'm finally out of that boring class and making the five block walk to the subway. One hand is holding my duffle and the other an umbrella. The early spring rain and humidity is pretty inconvenient. Speaking of inconvenient, my phone has been blowing up with calls and texts from my mother. I told her I would text her the second I got on the train but I'm running late so she assumes the worst.

"Hello mother I'm almost to the subway I'm just running a little late." I say, occupied by my search for my train number. Its hard to see the signs given my short height.

"Okay, I just assumed you were in some type of trouble considering you didnt answer my calls, again." She lets out an irritated sigh. "What are you wearing so I know what to look for when I pick you up." The tone in her voice has changed to calm and collected surprisingly fast.

"Um," I look down to remember what I am wearing. "I have on a bright red rain coat and black combat boots with jeans."

"Ok, I will you soon, bye Noel."

I can feel my heart beating in my ears. The slow rumble of the train is pounding under my feet. I watch as everyone piles into the train thru the small door. I find a seat alone in the back next to the bathroom, not the best choice but better than sitting next to a stranger. I pull out my headphones and wait for the conductor to finish his rushed announcements. I notice a young man, possibly about 20-22 years old, sitting across from me. I wouldn't have given him a second look if it wasnt for the book he was holding. Pride and Prejudice, one of my favorites. He is dressed in a bright white dress shirt and and red tie, slightly loosed. I try not to stare but the contrast between his bright blue eyes and blonde hair are enchanting. I blush when looks up and notice my gaze towards him. I jolt my head to my lap and twiddle my thumbs to hide the embarrassment. My instincts tell me that he is still looking at me.

"Hey." I look up to see if the words came from him and sure enough they did. He was talking to me.

"Hey." The word rolls off my tongue almost too quickly. Thats all I could manage to say? Hey? I'm so smooth. Me and the attractive male share a few seconds of awkward smiling before he looks back down at his book. I try to think of something charming to say but I chicken out, as usual. I just place my earbuds in my ears and keep the volume down, just incase he wants to chat some more. My eyes stare out the window at the plain wall speeding by.

"Noel!" I turn around to see my mother dressed in a all black business suit. Her short heels click on the ground as she walks towards me with open arms. I smile and rush at her, falling into her arms, taking her by surprise. I forgot what a mothers hug felt like.

"Oh mother, you have no idea how much I missed you." I say into her curly blonde hair. The sweet smell of perfume filling my nose.

"I missed you to my little Noella. Now lets get you home, I made your favorite for dinner." She says with a warm smile. My mouth waters at the thought of her amazing cooking.

"I'm so excited to see everyone." I beam as we walk out off the station.

"Jennette can't wait to see you either, she called earlier and asked to see you but I told her that she could have you tomorrow." She gives me a look as if to say "don't argue with me over this."

"Ok," I roll my eyes playfully and watch the corn fields and forests float by. I recognize my street sign, Carriage lane. I pick my head up and giggle in joy.

"Were home." I burst out of the car and rush up to the door, leaving all my things in the car. I impatiently wait for my mom to unlock the front door. I eagerly open it and am promptly greeted by a fuzzy brown lab. He begins to nuzzle his nose between my legs.

"Mickey!" I say in a high pitched tone. He gives me wet sloppy kisses to my hands and face. I hear feet rushing down the hall and suddenly I'm being knocked on the ground.

"Audrey!" I turn on my back and she climbs on top of me. Shes grown so much. This was definitely not the same 12 year old I saw almost eight months ago.

"I'm sorry," she giggles. "I just missed you so much Noel." She rubs her head into my stomach, causing me to burst out in laughter. We both stand up and she wraps her tiny arms around my waist.

"I missed you a lot." I give her a tiny peck on the top of her head, as if to say I missed you too.

"I'll go get your things out of the car." Audrey rushes out the door, leaving me alone in the entrance hall.

"Do I hear my little girl." I turn to see my father leaning on the door frame, hands in his pockets and a pencil tucked behind his ear.

"Daddy! I run over to give him a tight hug. "I'm so happy to be back." I say into his light blue dress shirt. He smells of cinnamon and ink, just like he always does.

"I missed you sweetheart." I finally let go of him and look around. The pictures are hung the same as always. I smile at all the memories from my childhood come flooding back to me.

"I'm going to put my bags in my room," I take the bags from Audrey and give her another hug. My mom has disappeared to the kitchen, sounds of plates bumping together can be heard from the dining room. I smile at my dad and walk down the hallway. I meet the small door at the end of the hall and take a deep breath before pushing it open. A cool gust of air rushes out of my room. The sunlight beams in thought the windows. I'm astonished by how it looks exactly the same as it did when I left. I would think that no ones been in there, but the lack of dust proves me wrong. I sit down on my beloved queen bed filled with stuffed animals and tiedye pillows to match the comforter. The bed takes up most of the small room even though its pushed against the wall. The white desk and dresser and the only other pieces of furniture in the room. I throw my bags on the floor and lay back.

"Its good to be back."
