I sat on my patio as I stared out at the sky. I took another hit of my blunt as more thoughts ran through my head. They're out for her and I can't do anything to stop this. I started thinking of my last time seeing her ...
March 7, 2008 ..
"Brudda! Brudda!", she called out as she ran to me as I sat on the swing set. I smiled as I wiped away the tears that was coming down. She crashed on my lap and lifted her.
She threw her tiny arms around me, attempting to squeeze me. I laughed as I hugged her back.
"I gonna miss chu!", she yelled.
"I'll miss you too, Cass.", I said as I kissed her cheek.
"When will chu be bak to see me!", she asked as she frowned.
I slowly stood up and sat her on the ground. I kneeled down and kissed her forehead as a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Cass ... I promise I'll b--"
"Liam, are you starting that pussy ass crying! Essere un uomo! Non ho alzato un ragazzo piagnone!"
I looked up and it was my angry dad, staring at me. That didn't stop me from crying anymore. My sister looked up at me with fear in her eyes. My dad charged at me. He yanked me up and pulled me inside. I started screaming. I knew what was going to be next.
He started throwing punches to me. I took them with no problem.
"Ecco come si gonna essere ?! Per Cassondra! Debole! Essere un uomo!"
When he said that, I became red. Cassondra was my whole heart. I started throwing punches back at him. He started losing control and begun to tip over. I stopped once he was on the floor. He was bruised pretty bad. He got up and glared at me. I started taking steps back. He went to the bathroom and left me there.
I went to go find Cassondra outside. I found her playing in the mud. I smiled as I picked her up.
"Let's get you cleaned up and ready for bed."
I took her to the bathroom. On my way, I heard the door swing open. It was probably my mother. My dad was siting on the couch. I ran the bath water, hoping this won't be nothing bad. Once it was full, I undressed Cassondra and put her in.
That's when I heard the screaming.
"YOU WAS WITH THAT DAMN NIGGER AGAIN, WASN'T YOU?!"
"I WAS OUT TRYING TO HELP OUR FAMILY! IT'S NOT LIKE THEM DAMN CHILDREN OF OURS ARE GONNA GET A JOB! SIDNEY LIVES IN HERE FOR FREE, DAMN NEAR TWENTY! MAURICE IS DAMN NEAR TWENTY FIVE, NEVER WORKED A DAY IN HIS LIFE! LIAM AND CASSONDRA THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO BREAK SHIT AROUND HERE AND NOT HELP PAY TO GET IT BACK WORKING! AND THEM DAMN OTHER KIDS YOU GOT ARE GROWN, BUT DON'T HELP US WITH SHIT!", she yelled back.
"IT AIN'T LIKE YOU RAISED THEM TOO! LIAM IS RAISING HIS OWN SISTER WHILE I'M OUT HERE TRYING PAY BILLS! THEY DON'T WORK CAUSE THEY'RE USED TO US HAVING IT ALL! THEY'RE USED TO THE MONEY WE HAD, THE HOUSE WE HAD! THAT'S ALL THEY KNOW, LOUISE! UNTIL YOU START GIVING OUR MONEY TO THEM NIGGERS!"
"Don't try to g--"
"Tu sei l'unica colpa di questo.", he said.
Then I heard the front door bust open and huge foot steps stomping in. I was dressing Cassondra in her pajamas when I was hearing it. I started carrying her to our room and laid her in bed.
