You opened your eyes, blinking to adjust to the light. You sat up and looked around at your surroundings, which were plain white brick walls, an IV stand, and some red flowers in a vase on a table.

A hospital? you thought, confused. Then realization hit. Hard.

"Goddamnit, Tord!" was the only thing you said, which led to a woman in light blue shirt and pants to walk in, presumably a nurse.

"Are you alright, miss?" she asked.

"Oh, uh, yeah," you replied, although you felt very tired.

You saw a flash of red outside the door and sunk back into the bed, sighing.

You knew very well who that was: Tord. Sure, it was sweet of him to stay with you while you were hurt, but he was the last person you wanted to see right now. Especially

"Tord stayed with you the whole time you were here," the nurse told you with a sweet smile that made you sick.

"How sweet," you mumbled sarcastically.

Tord pushed his way through the door and made his way to the chair you just noticed next to your bed.

He stopped halfway and looked at you, his eyes lighting up. "You're awake!"

He sounded like a child, and looked like one too. If it was any other day, you wouldn't be able to contain your smile and giggle, but today, it disgusted you.

"How are you feeling? Are you alright? I'm so sorry!" he rambled.

The nurse carefully made her way to the red-hoodied man, advising him to calm down and let you rest.

"I've been sleeping for a while, thanks," you said sourly.

Tord and the nurse turned towards you, mildly surprised at your tone.

"Can I leave?" you finally asked.

The nurse walked over to you, Tord right behind her. "You'll need to fully recover before you are released. You lost a lot of blood. We're giving you lots of sugars and your boyfriend even offered to donate blood."

'My Boyfriend.' Is that how he introduced himself?

That's how he introduced himself every other day, but after what he did, you just didn't believe he had the right anymore.

"Also," the nurse continued, "you broke your nose—"

"I did?" You sat up, furious. "Apparently you were lied to," you half-laughed, half-yelled.

"Lied to? Ma'am—"

"You make me feel old."

"... I don't understand."

You glared at Tord while replying to the nurse. "He broke my nose. I was trying to protect my friend," you explained, shifting your gaze onto the nurse. "which he was brutally attacking, and I stepped in between them, 'taking one for the team' as they say. He didn't realize who he hit until the floor was covered in my own blood."
