I slowly rose from my queen sized bed only to find my cat Felix sprawled across my legs. He was a dark grey with fluorescent green eyes. For a moment, all I did was stare, but when I came to my senses, I quickly pushed him off of me. I stood and glance in the mirror, my tattered orange hair everywhere and my brown eyes that completely clashed with it annoyed me. I rushed to pick out my clothes and change. After brushing my teeth and hair I stumbled down the stairs, shoved some toast in my mouth and sprinted towards the door.
"Good luck with your first day at school Mika!"
My mom said this as she tossed me my lunch on my way out the door. I strolled down the road to my bus stop, no longer rushing. When the bus arrived I attempted to make my way on glamorously but felt another leg bash into mine, I was tripped. Viki Downs... That prima-donna who was always trying to be better then me. The sad part is, she always was. Her long mouse brown hair fell to her waist and complemented her fancy royal blue dress that matched her eyes. When I fell, she cackled loudly and had the other kids join in.
The bus ride seemed longer than usual, I guess it was just because I had to hear Viki's annoyingly loud voice the whole time. When I finally arrived at school, I promptly looked around for Jess and Mikey.
"Yo Mika!"
A familiar voice called out, Jess.
"Jess!"
I turned in the direction of the voice and flailed my arms violently. We then slowly made our way to the edge of the hallway.
"How was your summer Mika?"
"Great! You?
"Meh, same old same old."
The day seemed to fly buy. My only issue with it was; I have to grow a plant durring science tomorrow, were going to plant seeds. I've never been good at gardening Ugh, what a drag...
When I arrive at my house, I sprawl out on my bed. What am I supposed to do, bring in miracle grow? There is then a knock at the door.
"Mika! Will you clean out the attic? I know you don't have any homework, so you should be able to get it done."
I sigh loudly and slowly rise from the bed and open my door. Felix is sitting there waiting for me. I then make my way to the pull down stairs to the attic. I reach for the string hanging from the celling and pull it down to reveal old wooden steps. Every step I take seems to creak louder. The curious cat followed not far behind. When I reach the attic I step onto the worn concrete floors. They are so cold, they sting the bottom of my feet.
I dust for what seems like hours, moving boxes and finding books. Out of the corner of my eye I find something that intrigues me... A cloth. Whatever's in it is wrapped in a shroud that looks much older than the other things. I slowly untied the cloth to reveal an even older book. I read the title labeled 'Wizardology'. What? I slowly flipped through the pages, finding them all blank.
"What a ripoff..."
I mumble underneath my breath. Then, the pages begin to turn on their own. When they stopped, they revealed words that looked as if they were being written as I read them.
'If you wish to use the powers found in this book, a price must be paid'
Nothing more appeared after that.
A price? This must be some sort of prank. A signature line then appeared under the words. Why not try it? I felt a sharp pain in my finger. When I looked down, it started bleeding and more words were revealed.
'To accept, sign your name in blood. If you wish to decline, simply close the book and all of your memory of it will simply disappear.'
This was just becoming strange. My memories of it would disappear? Well, I should just sign it incase...
I slowly signed my signature with my throbbing finger. When I did so, the bleeding stopped and the book revealed more pages.
'You have now entered the world of magic, side effects may occur with continuous use. Please refrain from telling any persons of this book, it will appear blank to those who have not made a vow. You will be physically unable to mention this book or any of it's contents to others not in the magic realm. As your powers grow, so will the teachings of this book.'
What was that supposed to mean, I can't talk about it? A table of contents appeared with few topics in it. There were three sections listed; wordrobe, wands and basic charms. I opened the book to 'Basic Charms' and began reading.
There are diagrams of charms and I'm shocked to find one about plants.
'This basic charm is to aid the growing of plants. You first take a 2" by 2" piece of parchment and do the following;
A
Ab
Abr
Abra
Abrac
Abraca
Abracad
Abracada
Abracadab
Abracadabr
Abracadabra
Then wrap the seeds in this paper and mutter the word before planting it. The plant is then guaranteed to prosper.'
Abracadabra... Really... This isn't funny anymore. It's just stupid. How could come thing as stupid as that work...
A/N Hello guys! I'm going to try and make this a series, if you think it should just be a short story with maybe 3 parts at most then tell me. Please comment what you think!
