Jaden you idiot!

Chapter 5: Surprise!

Thank you for sticking with me people, I know its slow going but nonetheless thank you very much! Without further ado, here's the next part!

The sound of crashing waves and squawking seagulls engulfed the hundred or so colourfully clad students standing on the pier. Each squinted blearily at the horizon, looking for any sign of the supposed cruise liner that was to escort them to the mainland. One student however, was wide awake and bouncing all over the place.

"Calm down Jay, the boats not even here yet," Alexis berated the Slifer. Jaden whirled around, stopping just short of throwing his arms around her. Alexis blushed and Jaden grinned happily.

"But Lex, we're going on a trip to the mainland! Do you know what that means?"

Alexis sighed, shaking her head.

"Let me guess, no school for a week?"

"You got it! And we'll be able to go on a date!" he said the last part quietly.

Jaden ran over the edge of the pier, weaving his way through the dense crowd. Alexis rolled her eyes, wondering once again why she liked this boy. Thinking back over the last few days, she her face flushed in embarrassment as all their little meetings and the time they had spent together came rushing back.

"Feeling a little hot there Alexis?" Chazz said in way of greeting, as the black coated duellist came alongside the Queen of Obelisk. Syrus was beside him, looking as red as Jaden's jacket. Alexis threw a quick scowl at Chazz, getting what he was implying. Choosing to ignore his comment, she gestured to Syrus.

"Is he sick?" she asked. Chazz rolled his eyes and looked down at the smaller boy, who was glancing all around him nervously.

"If only. Instead he's gotten himself a date for the school trip," Chazz explained, smirking as Syrus blushed even harder.

"It's not a date! Just Eleanor and I meeting up for a coffee and a movie and..." Sy trailed off and stopped there, face flushed. Alexis smiled.

"Syrus has a date?" Jaden exclaimed loudly, slinging his arm around his buddy's neck. Several of the students around them looked over in interest. Alexis face palmed. Jaden even now you're still oblivious, she thought wearily. As Syrus yelled at Jaden, Chazz stepped a little closer to Alexis.

"Looking forward to this?" he asked quietly. Alexis paused, mulling it over. Yes she was excited to go back to the mainland, plus with Jaden there it was bound to be even better. On the other hand, she didn't want everyone to see them hanging around together and connect the dots.

"Yes, but I'm worried about Jaden. He doesn't exactly have the best timing," she hesitantly replied. Chazz rolled his eyes.

"That's an understatement," he said. Alexis smiled and Chazz followed suit. There were no hard feelings between them, each knew that they weren't suited for one another.

"Hey Lex I can see the boat!"

Alexis looked back over to Jaden, where he stood on the piers edge, pointing out to a dark shadow on the horizon. Sure enough, within a few minutes, a large luxury cruiser came into view.

"This is going to be awesome!" he shouted excitedly. The gang shook their collective heads. He never changed did he.

Plopping his bag down on the floor, Jaden flopped backwards onto the bed. He sighed in bliss as he sank into the fluffy bed. After the boat had arrived and everyone had boarded, there was a speech about safety and respect. Jaden had zoned out for the most part, but had gotten the gist of it. Then all the students had been divided into groups of four to share the cabins. Propping himself up, Jaden looked at his cabinmates. All in all, he was pretty lucky. Chazz was there, being his usual self, listening to something on his PDA. Syrus was supposed to be there, but after the safety speech Eleanor had appeared and taken hold of the blunette, dragging him off somewhere. That left the last occupant of their little cabin. Alexander 'Xander' Harris, a Ra Yellow that used to hand around Bastion before he left. Jaden didn't really know him, but he seemed nice enough.

"Jaden do you want to use the shower first?"

Speak of the devil.

"You go! I'm going to meet up with Alexis," Jaden slapped a hand over his mouth as soon as he finished. There was the sound of crashing from the attach ensuite, and Alexander burst out of the bathroom wearing only his towel.
"Alexis?! You mean the Queen of Obelisk?" he demanded, eyes wide. Jaden was confused, but nodded. Xander crossed the room quickly, grabbing the Slifer by the shoulders, shaking him slightly.

"You gotta take me to meet her dude!"

Dammit Xander, stick with your bug people. What is it with you and loving blondes with a thing for other people? Can you guess the reference?

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you guys/girls/undecided think our lovebirds should do while in Domino City. I'm not really sure myself, so I'd really appreciate the input!
