"Speak now, or forever hold your peace" the preacher says, as he cautiously looks around.
I stood up, sweaty palms, shaky hands, and little to no voice.
"I object" I say loudly
The preacher, and everybody else in the room looks at me.
"Yeah, you heard me, I OBJECT" I say again with a brave tone.
Margret comes over to me, with a long train behind her and slaps me.
"How dare you, cross me" Margret says to me.
"I can cross you if I want, just like I cross my T's" I say revoltingly.
Margret looks back at Sage, and he is just staring at me, like some dumb animal. Then Sage suddenly walks towards me.
"Margret, the preacher did say speak now" Sage says.
"I know, but she has no right to do this!"
"Calm down sweetie, everything's all right" he says as he wraps her in a tight hug.
Then I see my dad practically running up the isle. He slapped me, leaving a red mark on my face.
"Ouch" I said with tears practically running down my face.
Mom, just sits there and acts like nothing is happening. Dad puts his hand up again to slap me, but this time Sage grabs it.
"That's enough, Mr. Gunter" Sage barks.
"Sage stay out of it, she's my daughter. If I choose to slap her, let me be." Dad barks back.
"This is child abuse" Sage says. "Can I talk to you in private Mr. Gunter?"
"Yeah" as dad gets up and walks out the door with Sage.
Margaret bends down, and tries to clean me up, but she see's all my bruises, thanks to my tears washing off all my makeup.
"Oh dear god" Margaret says.
"My dad beats-"
"I know now sweetie, don't worry about it." Margaret's eyes were swelling up with tears.
"Don't cry" I whisper.
"Oh god! Oh god! Someone call the police and an ambulance-" was the last thing I recall, then everything went black as I heard the door slam and a loud bang.
