Choosing Him

First Day✅

I flung my door open. Ready for a new year at a new school, this time with my bestie. It's been a week since we moved here and Ash and I have hung out everyday. She is supposed to be coming to my house this morning to walk me to school.

To be honest I have never been this happy to go to school. I think the best part is there is no uniform. At my last school we were forced to wear the same outfit everyday of the school year. Now that is different. Today I wear My favorite top with some Dark Denim shorts.

Once I check I have got everything, I step into the sunlight. I walk down the stone path to the end of the driveway and wait for Ashlie, who comes out only a few seconds after me.

We start to walk to school together and after a few minutes we meet up with the guy from the other day, Nick. We keep walking and arrive at one more house picking up some others. Apparently they all meet up here to walk to school each morning.

"Guys this is (Y/N), (Y/N) this is Tommy, Cory, Uni and Jon" Ash Introduced me before we carried on walking. 

We got to school and headed our opposite ways after they showed me my class and a few things I needed to know about the school

"So, (Y/N) how you feeling about our school so far?" Ashlie asked me.

"Well, apart from the people, it's fine" I joked

"WHAT! Apart from the people?" Tommy butted in

"Yes! Including you, now butt out" I laughed.

"Ooo, you got told" Cory teased. We walked up to an old looking picnic table under a tall willow tree and sat down. This must be their hangout spot. No one sits near us.

We sat there eating our lunch talking about random things when Uni spoke up.

"Ugh, look who heading our way" he says, I turn around to see a girl with Barbie doll blond hair and blue eyes. She's wearing a pink Denim looking jacket and light jeans. Behind her is a girl with short brown hair and brown eyes. She is wearing a red crop top, a black cardigan and short shorts. The third girl has blond hair and blue eyes like the first, except for her high ponytail, they looked identical. This one wears a black singlet with a see through long sleeved, white top and black shorts.

"Hello Uni" the first one smiles.

"What do you want, Kate?" Uni replies.

"I just wanna talk to my BF, is that bad?" Kate asks

"Yes it is! Uni doesn't even like you. So you, Lily and Sophie can stuff off!" Ashlie yells, clearly aggravated.

"Pfft, no one likes you, Ashlie. So you can shut up!" Kate's response doesn't even make Ashlie flinch, she knows Kate's lying.

Nick whispers something in her ear and they start laughing.

"Ugh, come on Uni, lets go" Kate grabs Unis arm.

"You to, Tommy!" The Brown haired girl says.

"No way Lily, and Unis staying too!" He smacks Kate's hand away. I look at them confused. Why act this way, when they obviously don't like them.

"What you looking at? Wait, your new! Are you the reason my Unicorn and Tommy don't want to hang out?" Kate says, I see Uni shiver at his 'nickname'.

"Leave her out of this, and don't call me Unicorn!" Uni yelled at her.

"Come on, Kate, Lily, leave them alone" the last girl, Sophie, spoke softly... Shyly.

"Come on, you act like that and Cory will never go for you" Kate teased, I could see Sophie blush as she looked down.

"OK, I'm confused... 1. Why do you keep saying Uni is your boyfriend? When he doesn't seem to even care about you 2. By the looks of things, you just blurted out Sophie's crush, why? And 3. Are you two sister?" I stand up, and make sure I am heard. Okay, the last one was a bit random, but I had to know

"I don't need to answer your stupid little quiz, I'm out!" Kate turns around and straits away like a little princess, soon followed by her posy.

"Hah, first person to get her to go away so quickly..." Uni giggled "Anyway to answer your questions. One she's the girl I told you about earlier, the stalker. Two we have known for a while, Sophie is the nicest in that group and yes, she is Kate's sister, that is the only reason they 'hang out'" Uni answers my short Q&A about what's going on.

"Poor girl, she has no one else" Ashlie adds.

"Well, why don't you let her hang out with you guys?" I ask.

"Because... If she does, it will give her sister a reason to come over more often, and she would get abused more at home" Cory says.

"Wait... She gets abused?" I am now worried for her.

"Yep, sadly" Ashlie says.

"Because she's not the favorite sister" Nick adds. Jon has been quiet the whole conversation, ignoring everything else going on. I look back down at my lunch, that's not right. She seems nice, apparently she is. I wish we could do something.

"Are you sure there is nothing we can do?" I look up to see everyone shake their heads. Ashlie giggles.

"Look at you (Y/N), trying to fix everything. Don't think I forgot that time you tried to 'fix' my bike, or the time you tried to fix me up with Dylan. By the way, I still gotta pay you back for that" She gave me the evils.

"Hey, come on, you wouldn't stop talking about him" I see something in Nicks eyes, maybe a hint of jealousy, but he hides it quickly "Which reminds me, I already got something to fix"

"And what might that be?" Ashlie gives me a confused look, I glance at Nick "oh, no you don't!" She reaches across the table, putting her hand over my mouth. I shove it away.

"Don't worry, I will think of the plan tonight. But other then that, I won't tell anyone" I laugh, as Ashlie slowly sits down, I look over to see Tommy, Dawn, Cory and Uni laughing Nick looking at me confused. I look behind me to see Jon looking off in the distance, deep in thought.

"Jon?" He doesn't respond "JON?" I tap his shoulder, but still no reply "JON!" I yell and shake his shoulder.

"Wha-?" A response, finally.

"Where were you?" I laugh.

"What?" Jon looks confused.

"I called your name three times before you responded, you were in another world" I smile, still looking at Jon.

"Oh, I was just thinking" He answers.

"About what?" Tommy yelled, giving me a bit of a fright.

"Ah, nothing. Nothing" Jon jumped then whispered the last 'nothing'. Something is on his mind, and I plan to find out.
