Blue smiled at the sensation of warm water from the natural spring flowing fluently around her body. Mala had shown her the pool of water and Blue had at first been very surprised.
"Won't there be crocodiles?" Blue was shocked at Mala's proposal that she would swim in the pool. Anything could be in there!
Mala had laughed and left Blue to bathe by herself. She had finally braved the water and was thankful that she had as it gave a warming and comfortable feeling to Blue. Now she studied the water closely as a ray of light shone through the canopy. When she had first gotten in the water, it was crystal clear and rippled when she entered, she had slowed her movement as she didn't like disturbing the peaceful serenity of the water's surface. As Blue had always been, she liked to leave nature untouched, and observe it instead of changing its course. Now, as the first ray of sun flittered its way down through the canopy, she watched diligently at how the ray took its time to make its way down to the water.
It was almost magic. It started fast, racing its way down to the ground, but halfway it slowed, and got slower still. It seemed that anything the sunlight reached shimmered and glinted, nearly glowing, as if the plants relished and appreciated the sun's mystical power of warmth. As it drew closer to the water Blue held her hand just below the surface and waited for the beam to reach her. Blue gasped at the miraculous sight. As the sun had hit the water, the entire surface of the pool glowed, as if the algae-covered rock at the bottom of the pool had lit up, displaying a remarkable view. It looked similar to the Northern Lights, the blue-green colour waving and rippling through the water. The sun hit Blue's hand and she pulled it back in surprise. The light had left her with a tingling sensation in her hand. Reluctantly, she placed her hand back into the sun's sight. This time, she kept her hand still and did no repel away when the tingling came back. She smiled at the magical experience as it crept through the rest of her body, making it feel light, like it was lifting her weight from the pool.
A cloud came over and covered up the sun's warm finger of light. Blue gazed up at the sky, wishing the golden beam would come back. She waited a couple minutes and realised that she should probably get dressed and head back to the hut so Mala didn't get worried. She scaled the bank and shook herself off like a dog. As she got changed, she contemplated what had happened in the water. Was this normal to happen in the rainforest? Surely not, it was an almost supernatural sight. It felt similar to what Mala had described.........was it the jungle spirits? No! Blue didn't believe in that unreal, fantasy stuff anyway. Although for the last day or so she had experienced some quite unreal things. All well, she thought, another thing to think about for another time.
