"Hey its Hannah. Hannah Baker. That's right, don't adjust your..... whatever device your hearing this on. It's me, live and in stereo. No return engagements, no encore, and this time absolutely no requests. Get a snack, settle in. Because I'm about to tell you the story of my life".
Y/n's POV
I was sitting in class, drawing random things in my notebook. Of course, like every class that day, they were discussing moving on. Moving on is hard for alot of people. I'm one of those people. I wasn't even paying attention to the class. I was just 'gazing' at Clay. Clay Jensen. Okay I guess it was more like staring at him. I would prefer the word gazing do to its lack of creepiness.
FlashBack
I was sitting in class as Ms. Bradley was talking. "The group collaboration is worth one-fifth of your semester grade so--" she started, but was soon interrupted by the bell going off. I stood up next to Hannah as Clay started talking to her. "I like the hair. The short hair. Um... I liked the long hair too" he said, "And um, I realize this makes me wishy-washy, and I should have said something the other night, and in truth I don't like change, but this change seems cool" Clay finished. He looked at me, then looked away. "It is pretty cool" I chipped in.
Hannah only replied by saying, "Thanks Clay", before leaving, me soon about to follow. I was about to leave class when I dropped a book. I went to pick it up, but so did Clay. We head-butt each other before laughing. "Sorry, and thanks... for the book" I said, before biting my lip. "No problem" he said. I smiled, catching up to Hannah in the hallway. "Tell me why you like him again?" She asked, as we walked through the hallway. I just rolled my eyes. "Don't have enough time to explain" I said.
FlashBack over
"Clay" the teacher called. She cleared her throat, calling his name again afterwards. "Yes, sorry what?" Clay stuttered. "Are you with us?" The teacher asked. "Yeah, no I am with you?" He said. Clay, with the class. As if . He never focus anymore. Probably cause Hannah's not here. Everyone is so worry about dealing with moving on, that its hard to focus.
I walked outside of school. "Clay!" I called. "Hey Y/n. How you doing?" He asked. "Fine I guess" I said. "I feel the same way" he said. We talked until Tony came, driving Clay home. I walked home slowly, looking at the gloomy town. I stopped at the movies, slowly putting my hand against the door. I remember Hannah training us.
FlashBack- At the movies
Hannah was putting butter in the popcorn. She was training me and Clay, hint hint the trainee paper we had hanging from our shirt. "Like so. Now if they ask if it's real butter, what do you say?" Hannah asked. "It's a butter-based product" Clay said. "And smile when you say it" she said.
I gave her a strange look. "I know, terrifying, but it sells the big lie" Hannah said. "Big lie, noted" I joked. "Oh and little trade secret: If they're cute put butter only on the top so they have to come back for more during the movie" Said Hannah. "Okay, uh why?" Asked Clay. "So you can chat 'em up" Hannah said. "Oh, chats not really my thing" said a tensed Clay. "I like it" Hannah said. So do I. "Working in a movie theater, I think you'll eventually get to chats" I said.
