When the girl arrived at the doors of the abandoned hospital her knees locked, refusing to take a step closer to the place where she had see  the shadowy, demon-like thing.

She struggled against her body, her mind trying to force her locked and shaking limbs to move, but ended up  failing miserably.

Two minutes later the girl was still  struggling against her body so she lost intrest and finally gave up. More intrested in finding a sheltered spot rather than forcing herself to stay in a place she didn't want to be in, the girl trudged through the icy weather to find a place to stay.

---

Walking around the girl remembered the abandoned neighborhood a few blocks over, sure it was abandoned but that's okay, it was a lot better than sleeping in the hospital.

Where that demon thing was.. Her mind whispered.

The frozen child shook her head at the thought and proceded to trod, and trip over the rapidly freezing snow. Sometimes pausing to vulgarly curse at the inanimate objects , she moved slowly but surely towards the neighborhood.

---

When she got there she froze almost as badly as she had there in front of the hospital.

The block was almost pitch black. With all of the street lamps out, no lights on in the houses and since the sun already set, you couldn't see anything.

Again the girl had a mental battle, she needed shelter, but she didn't want to go into that darkness.

She shivered as a ominous feeling washed over her, tingling along her body and up her spine, making the hair on the back of her neck stand up straight and causing her body to go rigid.

She didn't know how to explain it, but she knew there was something there, she knew that there was something waiting in the darkness of the neighborhood.  Her young mind went wild, spinning up tales of black hearted demons, cold hearted assassins, huge sharp clawed monsters, all waiting in the concealing darkness in front of her.

Nope she couldn't. She didn't care if she had to sleep outside, there was no way that she was going into that darkness. No freaking way.

The girl spun on the soaking her heel and took off, running backwards completly ignoring the trail she had previosly made. She ran  south hopegullt moving away from the abandoned neighborhood and the hospital.

She ran for what seemed like hours (but was probably only minutes) and finally screeched to a stop in front of a large forest.

By that time it was already pitch black so the girl walked up to the nearest large tree and fell asleep against it's roots.
