Amelia cried into her pillow. They were right, all those things they blamed her for were her fault.

Why can't I just die ? At least I'll be with Mama and my other brothers and sisters if I do

"Mama please come back please." The girl cried out while tears continued to fall.

"Amelia ? "  a voice at the door said followed by a knock.

"Can I come in ?"

"Umm sure" Amelia said not moving from her position.

Belgium entered the room and was heartbroken at Amelia's state.

The young girl had red eyes from crying and bags under them.

Belgium pulled her into a hug. Instead of pulling away, Amelia relaxed in it.

You see, Belgium had been another mother figure to Amelia during the colony days when she was at Spain's house for a visit and still was.

Amelia had not only told France but also Belgium that she was going too declare war on England for independence when she was younger.

After 1812, Belgium had come from across the Atlantic ocean and helped Amelia with her wounds and heart burn. She was also a shoulder to cry on.

Same for the civil war. Belgium and a few other nations Amelia trusted knew about Confedrancy and how he almost won the war. After that Amelia had nightmares for the next 2 weeks. They were all about how her country  would be.

If Confedrancy won.

Belgium had been there to comfort Amelia. She was also there for Pearl Harbor, the Great Depression, 9/11,
All of it.

Belgium had never liked the way England or any of Amelia's other fathers and fellow countries treated her. And when she scolded them, they never listened.

Amelia started to cry in Belgium's embrace.

"Their right about me Bel, their all right." The girl sobbed into her chest.

"Amelia, now you know that isn't true."

"Yes it is, I struck Japan back too hard so many people died and are still dying from the radiation, the ruined everyone's economies including yours."

"Amelia listen to me." She lifted Amelia's face so the girl was looking at her." Everyone one especially nations make mistakes. You fixed those mistakes. You helped Japan after, the Great Depression ended after 10 hard years but at least it ended. That doesn't give them the right to treat you like this at all. This is bullying"

"But England- I made him cry during the Revolution, and I couldn't help Papa, and the Spanish-American, they all hated me after those"

Belgium smiled at the girl.

"Amelia you were growing up. You couldn't say with England forever and he knew that. He needs to learn to let you be you. He shouldn't insult you for everything you do. You proved yourself after that war at such a young age and proved yourself again during 1812 when he tried to get you back. But burning your capital was too far. You pulled yourself together after the civil war because your strong. I know France was your ally but honestly you weren't even 50 years old, you still needed to grow. As for Spain, same thing with England, he knew Philippines was going too leave and you were just helping her as a sister and country. As a parent it's hard to let your kids go. That's why parents are always crying when their kids go to college. They'll miss them."

Belgium than spoke in a firm but soft and gentle voice. "You didn't do anything wrong, you never did. Please understand that. The others are by hurting and bullying you like this. "

"Do you think England misses me ?"

"Well judging by the fact that he tried again to get you back during 1812, yeah. Spain...." Belgium sighed sadly. "He missed you too and still does"

Amelia was confused. "What do you mean ?"

"After the Spanish-American he came back in tears, didn't leave his room for 2 weeks, he would have stayed in there longer but I forced him out. He told me that he should have fought harder not just to grt Philippines back but to also get you back."

"What ?"

"After you won your independence, England went into depression, France pulled him out. Spain didn't really show it like that but he would sometimes walk into your room in his house and just stay there for awhile. When he started to change towards you he would come back and tell me that he regretted it. When he tried to apologize, it was like he couldn't and he would just say something hurtful to you. It was like the Spanish-American War would stop him"

Amelia couldn't believe it, they had actually missed her.

They actually loved her.

Belgium got up."Well I'll see you  downstairs when you come down." She was about to walk out the room.

"Bel ?"

"Yeah ?"

"Thank you for always being there for me." Amelia smiled

Belgium smiled at Amelia. "You don't ever have to thank me for that. Your like a daughter to me Amelia."

After Belgium left Amelia got an idea.

She went to Philippines's room and knocked on the door.

"Amelia ?" Philippines asked as she opened the door.

"Hey umm when was the last time you talked to Spain not country wise, but as.... you know, father and daughter  ?" America asked sitting on the bed with her sister.

Philippines looked down. "Not since Spanish-American. I thought he hated me after that so I didn't really talk to him after. Plus a few other nations said that he probably wouldn't think of us as his children since we made him cry. But I do miss him." She said that last part in a sad tone.

"Yeah I do too..... Remember when he would take all of us to the meadow to swim in the lake ?"

Philippines smiled at that. "Yeah, and that one time when there were so much turtles and he jumped in the lake and they just started surrounding him and he started to float on his back and put 2 on his stomach and one on his face !!"

"That's when he started calling himself the turtle king" Amelia said about to laugh.

"And us and Maddie, Seychelles, Panama, and Maria made him a crown that said 'Turtle King' in green!!"

Both girls were cracking up now.

"Belgium said that he didn't come out of his room for 2 weeks after the war and that he would've stayed in there longer if she didn't force him out."

Philippines eyes widen. "Oh... really ?"

"Yeah..... do you wanna go see him ?"

Philippines smiles and nodded. "It's time things get back to how they were before."

The girls left Philippines's room and made their way to Spain's.

Once they got there they both took a deep breath and knocked.

Would he want to see them ?

Could they be the way they were before the war ?

Maybe he would want to see him.

Maybe they could the way they were before the war

But maybe is a word that could go both ways.

                      Yes or No

But we'll just have to wait and see.

I just litterly realized that I keep ending chapters in this book with suspicion.

There's been so much talk about fatherly love in here and father figures that I thought Amelia needed a female role model and motherly figure. After she was colonized.
