Percy°°°°°°°°°°
As I stood, staring down the length of an arrow, I could feel Artemis watching my posture, could feel her eyes searching for any mistake in my stance before finding none, and telling me shoot. I quickly released my arrow and waited until I heard a thunk before lowering the bow to see where I hit. She clapped as she stepped to stand next to me, both of us admiring the close bulls eyes. It was an inch from the center, where the tinny black dot taunted me.
"You've come far young hunter, one day, you will exceed my expectations, but, gladly today is not the day." Artemis says happily, semi stealing Yoda's line. I blame the newest huntress, who happens to be a huge star wars fan, and forced everyone to sit and watch it, so now, at least everybody makes some kind of pun or joke or uses a line from star wars. I just shake my head, chuckling at her behaviour, over the past couple of months, the hunters have gotten comfortable with me, I can walk around camp and not get an arrow shot at me now, and the huntresses call me brother sometimes, so, I feel like we've made progress.
"Percy, I- I have a question" Artemis turns to look at me, stuttering slightly. I nod my head for her to go on. She breaths deeply, "Would you let me bless you?"
"I didn't sneeze though." I reply not quite understanding what she said, it was to unnatural for it to happen.
"I meant give you my blessing, like with my hunters, but, with out immortality. You would excel at archery, you can talk to animals of the forest, and you would have the stealth of a panther. "
I kind of just stared at her, and when she starts to fidget, I move forward and hug her. "I would love for you to bless me arty!" I spin us around, and we both laugh.
"Put me down you giant oaf!" Artemis says laughing smacking my arm lightly. I put her down and kneel in front if her. She places her hand on my shoulder and a silver light passes between us. As Im still kneeling, I look up at Artemis, and she covers her mouth with a hand, her eyes wide in surprise.
"What?" I ask in worry.
"I think I did it wrong, I've never blessed a guy, and usually the girls say vows and I accept, but I think I made you my champion." she rambles before whispering the last part.
I just sit in shock for a second, my mind racing, before deciding, I dont really mind, Im proud to be a set line for guys who think their good enough to be near the hunt, or for huntresses to judge a guy by. Its a privilege.
"What does this mean for my power and appearance? Is it noticeable, or can we keep this a secret, something we can use should a new war come about?"
She shakes her head, she doesn't know, she's never had to deal with this before. As I stood, three flashes alerted us to the arrival of the fates.
"All hail Perseus Jackson, god of loyalty, hunt, moon, tides, time, earth, and monsters." Clotho said.
"All hail Perseus Jackson, defender of Olympus twice fold, defeater of Kronos, sleep bringer of Gaea, defeater of the Minatour, empousi, telekhines, hellhounds, the hydra, drakons, Cyclops, giants, gods, titans, The furies, and tartarus." Lachesis said.
"All hail Perseus Jackson, Guardian of the Hunt, Champion of Artemis,-" Atropos was cut off when Hades and Hestia flashed in.
"Hello Percy, I was wondering if I could make you my champion also?" Hestia asked, walking up to me. I nodded and kneeled in front of her as she put her hand on my shoulder, as it was finished, and I went to stand, Hades took her place and placed his hand on my shoulder also. I blinked in surprise. "Thank you mi'lord, mi'lady" I bowed my head to them respectfully.
"-champion of Hestia, champion of Hades, and champion of fate." Atropos finished. And as I was still kneeling, all three women placed their hands on my head, and shoulders, I became champion of fate. As I finally stood, I looked to Artemis, and she was in shock. Which I could understand, her making me her champion just caused a huge chain reaction. Although, I do not know how I became a god.
"Wha- what do you mean god? How is he a god?" Artemis asked the three fates.
"We do not actually know, all we know is, he will not become a full god until he wishes so, even if he is on the brink of death, should he wish to become a god, he will be turned, and fully healthy, and at full strength." Clotho replied.
"Thank you." I bow to them before turning to Hestia and Hades, bowing again, and then walking over to Artemis, gently nudging her away. And as we walk into camp, I encounter my first problem of being blessed by six godly beings, without checking my appearance, the hunters dont recognize me. And so, I learn how to use one of my new skills, shadow travel.
