----100 years----

**Percy**

I was walking through the woods, my eyes trained on the silver blur that's darting through the trees, its prey 50 yards ahead, completely unaware. As the blur stopped, my breath hitched as I admired the beautiful form of a woman, her hair perfect even after running, the auburn locks brushing against her lower back. Her bow was notched and the string was taunt as she pulled her arrow back, I could see her chest slowly rising and falling as she breathed deeply, relaxing as she focused on her hunt. I smiled as the arrow whispered through the air and hit its mark. The deer froze for a second before stumbling and falling to its side, eyes glazed by death. The woman walked to her kill calmly, unsheathing her knife as she said a prayer over the deers body, thanking it for its sacrifice. She slits it's throat and picked it up, letting it bleed as she carries the deer back to camp, to her awaiting hunters, so they may prepare they're dinner. The first meal they've had in several day because of the migrating herds. I watch her for a few moments, her body standing strong as she carries the heavy burden. "Arty" I whisper as I fade from the forest, opening my eyes to see my ceiling, my comforter keeping the chill from touching my skin. I sigh, another dream, they were becoming more frequent, leaving my mind whirling to find the cause of this new development. I sigh again, 'it's to early to be thinking this hard' I think as I slowly get out of bed, prepearing do my morning routine workouts. I got dressed in my usual work out clothes, black running shorts, grey muscle shirt, and my running shoes. I did some stretches and started at a light jog. I was slowly increasing my speed over the five mile run, slowing as I neared the temple dedicated to the late Creators- Chaos, Void, and Order. When I was stabbed in Alaska they appeared to me and convinced me to wait to activate my God powers, and to come rule the world for them as they needed a successor who would survive the ascension and be willing to give them back they're powers when they came back from the comatose sleep they went into so that they could release built up power without hitting anyone. I walked into the temple to ask for guidance, in hope they could hear and help me solve this dream situation. With the new powers I have coarsing through me, added to the powers I already had, my apperance changed. It was annoying sometimes, because the female population, married/taken/single, all wanted me. Even with the ability to change my apperance, my presence and power stood out amongst the crowds, and considering there was only maybe 10 people in the temple at the moment, this was not good. I could feel all the eyes on me. If I hadn't spent 100 years dealing with it, I'd probably shrink down, but, I'm so use to the staring I just continue walking to the private room in the back. I sat down and closed my eyes.

'hello our young champion, why do you call upon us in our slumber?'

'I need to understand the meaning behind my dreams. I've been pulled down to earth more frequently than usual.'

'hmm, this does seem troubling, but, alas we can not do anything until we awake. Try the ascension journals, see if any previous leaders have ever experienced this, and write your own entry so that future leaders may be guided by you in understanding their role as Creator.'

'Of course, thank you Elders. '
I open my eyes and look across the room to the desk that sits there. My eyes travel behind the desk to the wall of books-Journals of Creators past. There has been many temporary Creators, and the journal's all testify to that fact, some are even the three Elder creators personal journals. I walk across the room to the desk and sit on it, facing the book shelf as I close my eyes and think about what I'm looking for. I hear a thud and look down to see a stack of 50 or so books next to me. "I've got my work cut out to me, don't I?" I whisper to myself.

As I return to camp, the deer slung over my shoulder, I stop and turn my ear so that I may listen to the breeze. I heard something, and yet, there is nothing here. I just shake my head and continue off to camp.
As I get there, I can see my hunters playing, training, and some are just laying around. They'll be so happy once they see what I've caught tonight. We've gone several day without food because of the migrating herds. I walk into camp and all my hunters gather around me, helping take the deer off my shoulder. As the younger hunters watch the older ones skin and gut the deer, prepping it for consumption, I go off to my tent, waving my hand to keep visitors out as I kneel by my desk and reveal a hidden compartment. I pull all of the item out and carry them to my bed. As I pick up the items, the memories of how then came to be in my possession flash through my brain.
'Percy, your doing it all wrong, your forgetting to take in account the wind, the distance, and plus, your holding your bow all wrong. Like this' I show him once again how to do it and he laughs and gets into the proper stance, mischief dancing in his eyes as he releases his arrow and it hits bulls eye.
I stand there amazed before snapping out of it and slapping him in the shoulder 'how long have you been able to do that!' I exclaim.
'for about a day or two, I guess' he shrugs.
'why didn't you tell me!?'
'Cause your reaction was hilarious Arty.' he laughs as he leans on his bow.
I kick his bow out from under him and watch as he falls to the ground.
'I'm sorry Arty, I didn't mean anything by it, it was just good fun, promise.' he explains, looking up at me and does his baby seal thing.
I huff but forgive him and offer my hand to help him up.
------
'Okay, okay, now sit down.' Percy whispers in my ear.
I sit and look down at the table as he uncovers my eyes. My eyes widen in surprise as I see a gift sitting in front of me, wrapped with paper decorated in silver with little wolves of it. I look at Percy questionably.
'Its your birthday dummy.' He says, laughing. 'Open it!'
I open it carefully, and I'm dumbfounded by what's inside. I grab the cookie and eat it, but as soon as I taste it I know it's not a normal blue cookie, and my body instantly relaxes as the comforting taste hits my tongue.
'It's my mother's recipe, with a little nectar and ambrosia mixed in instead of water and chocolate chip. The recipes in the card so you can make them after I leave.
------
I laugh as Percy proudly holds up his first attempt at making a sword. He just smiles at me and swings the off balanced blade. It accidentally hits the counter and shatters in half, looking more like a ragged dagger than a mighty sword. He pouts and puts the blade down,  turning around and starts putting materials together to make a second one.
-----
Soon all i'm left seeing is the blurry mess on my bed as the tears swell in my eyes. The arrow head from his first bulls eye, the recipe to make his favorite cookies, the broken sword, and the one object that probably haunts me the most- my prize. It had took me years to finally get this slip of paper from Thalia. I think at one point it stopped being about what they prize was and more about having the last piece of her cousin with her. The folded paper was worn and yellowing after all this time, tear stains covered and smudged any ink that as still there. I still don't know what my prize was, and Thalia seems to have repressed any memories from that day.

"Lady Artemis!" I hear one of my hunters call in panic.

I rush outside my tent, the mess on my bed swiftly put back into place with magic, and all I see is chaos. We were surrounded by monsters. I quickly joined the scrummage, shooting arrows and slicing with my twin daggers. As we killed the monsters I could feel my hunters and I's power and strength waning. Everywhere I looked I could see my hunters suffering, some already dead. With my last burst of energy I quickly dispatch the monsters near me and send out a power pulse, hoping the gods can help in time. As I blacked out, silently apologizing to my hunters, I saw him standing in the trees, watching me sadly.

I was reading through the thirty-sixth journal when I felt the distress call. I quickly close my eyes and send a part of myself to see what was happening when I saw Artemis falling to the ground, eyes closing, but not before they connected with mine. I quickly jumped into action, making sure my power was controlled and my hood was up as I took out my daggers and went to town killing the monsters that were attacking my family. As I finished with the monsters, I turned to find only a couple hunters standing. The rest were either dead or just about there. I know I could get in extreme trouble for this, but I quickly walked to the hunters close to death before sending a small pulse wave of power through the field, watching carefully as I see it warp around mid-air. I smirk before quickly teleporting to the spot and grabbing the god of death by the arm. "You shall take no more souls today Thanatos. You have taken plenty do you not think so?" I ask the man who warped into existence.

"Who are you to tell me how many souls I may collect on a battle field?" He commands, looking at me like I was but a maggot on a corpse.

I chuckle darkly and lean in close to him, lightly caressing his face, "I am you worst nightmare," I grip his throat tightly, "and I suggest you do as I say before Hades has to find someone else to fill your position for a couple millennia. I do not take lightly to be disobeyed." I release my grip on his throat as my power surges between us for just a moment. His eyes widen before he quickly leaves the field. I just turn around and quickly get the hunters stable before calling my essence back to my body as I continue reading the journals.
