If Only - A shipping story (Book 1)

Chapter 1: On Our Way

Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie are staying at a nearby Pokemon Centre on their way to Serena's next performance.

"Come on Clemont!" Bonnie yelled as she was jumping up and down on Clemont's bed. "We are going to be late because of you!" she continued yelling and jumping up and down until Clemont finally gave up.

"Fine! Now get out while I get changed" Clemont moaned as he got out of bed and pushed Bonnie all the way out the door and slammed it shut.

"Hmph!" Bonnie grunted. Just then Serena waltzed around the corner and bounded up the hallway. She stopped when she noticed Bonnie sitting, hunched, at Clemont's door. Serena crouched down and said sweetly "Bonnie, what are you doing sitting here outside of Clemont's room?"

"He won't let me in to make sure he gets dressed correctly," Bonnie said with a pout.

"Well Bonnie, Clemont is a grown boy now so you can't keep going into his room whenever you want, he needs his own privacy, as do all of us." Serena said reassuringly. What the girls didn't know was that Clemont had finished getting changed and was about to open the door when Serena came to talk to Bonnie. Clemont had silently crouched down and put his ear to the door to listen. Then,

"CLEMONT! HURRY UP! NOW EVERYONE IS UP SO HURRY!" Bonnie said as she banged on the door hard, not knowing Clemont's ear was on there. Then she marched off down the hall, leaving Serena just standing there. On the other side of the door Clemont was laying on the ground just trying to get his hearing back in his right ear. There was another knock at the door. Not a knock like Bonnie's but an elegant one. Clemont leapt to his feet and hurried over to his backpack. He threw it on his back and hurried to the door. The door swung right open in front of Serena, which gave her a fright. Clemont stepped out of the door and shut it.

"So shall we catch up to the others?" Clemont said with a warm smile on his face.

"Yeah!" Serena said as she bounded off towards the main area with Clemont closely following her. They strode up to a corner where Bonnie, Pikachu and Dedenne were waiting.

"Where is Ash?" Serena asked politely.

"He said he had to make an important call to some girl" Bonnie said standing up and stretching. Serena looked towards the hall and started blushing when she thought about Ash.

"And, what took you so long!" Bonnie yelled at Clemont and stood on his foot hard.

"Oww! What was that for?" Clemont said in pain holding his foot, but also glancing over at Serena, who was staring down the hall.

"Ahem!" Bonnie 'coughed' loudly. Clemont looked at her. "It was for you being late, if you wanted to know instead of staring at Seren..." her voice trailed off as she looked at Serena who was walking off down the hall. Bonnie turned her head slowly to look at Clemont with a very disturbing evil grin. All of a sudden Bonnie shouted

"You like Serena! You like Serena!" Clemont shoved a hand over her mouth to shut her up while blushing profusely.

"I do not!" He said back still covering Bonnie's mouth. Meanwhile, Serena had reached Ash's room and peeked through the crack in the door. On the screen she saw a girl with orange hair and green eyes, talking to Ash. Serena listened closely.

"Hahahahaha! You're so funny! But seriously are you coming to Lumiose City in three days?" Ash said laughing.

"Yes Ash I am. In fact, I have come along to compete in the Pokemon Showcase there. Will you be cheering for me?" the girl said looking Ash straight in the eyes.

"Of course! Anyway I got to go, I will see you in three days. Love you, bye!" Ash said as he blew a kiss to the screen and turned it off. Serena who had been listening to the whole conversation had so many thoughts floating in her head, that she decided to run to her room and shut the door behind her quickly. She leant against the door and slouched down into a sobbing mess. Ash said 'three days' that this girl, is coming to Lumiose City and what's even better is that I will be competing against her in the Pokemon Showcase. But the best part is that Ash said he 'loved' her. Serena thought sarcastically. The thoughts were zooming around in her head like race cars. Then there was a gentle knock on the door that snapped Serena out of her fit.

"Hey Serena. Are you coming cause we are leaving now." said the voice. Serena knew who it was so she wiped away her tears, pulled herself together, picked up her bag and marched out the door. Serena marched all the way past Ash, Bonnie and Clemont and stopped at the front doors. She spun around and said

"Are you coming or not?" Ash, Clemont and Bonnie quickly gathered their things and scurried after Serena who was already marching off to Lumiose City.
