Chapter 12

Megan's POV

Its been a week since James has been with us and a month since I've found out that I'm pregnant. Everything seems to be going well. We had someone go up to my parents place and collect James' things. He didn't have much, mostly pictures of him and his mom. He doesn't look much like her, he looks more like my dad and myself though his mom, Emily, was really pretty. I found out a lot about her through James. Apparently he and his mom were really close and open with eachother. She met my dad at a party and instantly they took a liking towards eachother. Emily had no idea that my dad was married and had a daughter. She was young and in love. When she got pregnant she told my dad, who then told her about my mom and I. She cut him off completely. She never allowed my dad to meet James after that. He sent them checks over the years but she never cashed them. I understand why though. I wouldn't want a liar and cheater near my kid. She raised James alone for seven years and he turned out perfectly fine. Hes a wonderful and smart boy. Too smart for a seven year old if you ask me. Hes been trying to get Harry and I alone for the past week any chance he gets. Urgh. Its not been helping me out with my "feelings". Anyway... back to Emily. She died of stomach cancer she was only thirty, she was diagnosed two years after James was born. She died a week and a half ago and thats when James was sent to my father. Its really sad, she was so young.

Emily doesn't have any family besides a younger brother whos in Australia. Her parents died when she was young so besides her brother who James says he "hates" because apparantely this guy stood him up way too many times in the past and never really had time for him, he had no choice but to live with my dad.

If you're wondering... No I didn't get all of this information in one day. It took me a week but this has just brought us closer to eachother. I can tell he misses his mom alot, but he understands what happened to her and he accepts it. Emily probably knew this was going to happen someday so she explained everything to him. By the sound of it she really was a good mother to him.

I know that I should not be taking things so easily. And I should probably hate James and Emily. I mean my dad did cheat on my mom with Emily. But I just can't bring myself to do that because out of it all we got James, and I love that smart-ass to the core.

"Morning beautiful." Harry says chirpily.

"Pfft beautiful." I scoffed even though I was smiling in my head.

"What? You are." He smiled back.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "Theres breakfast for you in the micro"

"For me?" Harry asked raising an eyebrow. "Again? Not that I don't like your cooking or anything but I told you that I'm supposed to be making you stuff not the other way around." He scholded going to take his breakfast out of the microwave. "And besides theres still a week until James starts school and you continue with your college so I don't know why you're even up so early."

College. I missed alot of that. Too much for my liking. But I called in sick and Raquel, Caitlyn and Frank have already made me notes and they have offered to tutor me as well, if I need it. I honestly don't know why Frank is helping but I appreciate it. They are all wonderful friends.

"What? I'm a morning person." I said shrugging sheepishly. And because Harry had this tendency of wrapping his arm around my waist and I didn't want to face any awkward encounters. But I didn't say that out loud.

"Fine. Whatever. But promise me you'll rest once I leave." He said taking a bite of his taost.

Todays Harry's last day of work until christmas leave.

"Oh but I thought I'd take James shopping for school necessities and other stuff today." I said.

We enrolled James in a nearby private school which Harry said is really good and James insisted on going there.
