"Come on! Hurry it up!" I told the bees, as they swarmed past me towards the multi-colored flowers. The scent of pollen filled me inside, making me happier each time I inhaled. And yes, I did say the scent of pollen and not flowers. In reality, the scent of flowers isn't actually the flower itself. It's the pollen and each flower has its own smell, depending on how much pollen is in it. It's simple, really. ((A/n: This is actually not true. I just made it up. Sorry to disappoint! XD))

My wings flapped behind me, whirling the wind. The bees hurried over to the color filled field, some even tried to rebel. "No!" I shouted at one as it tried to make its way back to the village. "We have to collect the pollen!" I told the cute little guy. Or girl. Yeah, I'm not going to check. The black striped rebel made a swift buzzing noise before obeying my command. "That's what I thought" I told it, crossing my arms over my chest in a sassy way. I laughed to myself, or I guess it was more at myself. I continued to fly over the bees, watching them swarm and fly towards the fresh scenting energy source was somewhat thrilling. All the stripes and color blended in, making it look almost like one huge bee was flying over the plain green valley.

"Just a bit longer" I reassured myself as I was already becoming tired of this job. Suddenly the bees stopped, which made me stop. Which then led to me almost falling out of the air. "Ugh!" I groaned. "Why did you stop?" I asked, clearly annoyed.

Yeah, 'cause that helps so much. I looked around again, making sure no elves were in sight. Elves were the sworn enemies of my kind. Fairies and Elves have been fighting since the beginning of time.

Okay, okay. Maybe not since the beginning of time. But it was definitely for a long time. The worst part being, they would attack us so often. Pollination routes were some of the most attacked places. Lucky me, right?

I checked around one more time. Nothing. The only sound filling the air was the silent buzz of a few bees. Once I made sure everything was fine I waved my hands out, the signal for "GO! YOU POINT-BUTTED POLLINATORS!"

The bees seemed to all buzz a beautiful noise at once, and then they were off. I sighed and lied down on a flower. It's soft petals tickling my bare legs. Pulling down my dress and I waited for the bees to finish. Usually, normal pollen collectors would help put the pollen in containers as the bees tell us where it is.

But, I'm way to lazy to do that. Instead I let the pollen stick to the bee's fuzzy legs and then swipe it off into a basket. Laying down on the flower I closed my eyes. The last noise I heard was the sound of my soft sigh.

Rustle. Rustle.

I jumped up from my position on the flower. A red stain caught my attention. Walking towards it, I couldn't help but feel eyes following me everywhere. Looking down at the red stain, I knew automatically that it was blood. Memories flashed through my brain. "No. No. No. No. No. No. No" I whispered to myself. I prayed that this was a prank. That one of my little brothers would come waltzing down here, holding up a banner that says "Loser!"

But that didn't happen. It was blood. Nothing could change that. I counted my bees. 15. The same number that came with me and none of them were injured. How? I counted again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

But there were still 15 in sight. Looking around I heard another rustle coming from my left. Peering over my shoulder, I walked up to the bush. "H-hello?" I asked, my voice shaking. Another rustle was heard, until finally a head popped out.

The first thing I notice is she's an elf. The second feature I noticed was that she was gorgeous. I mean, she was beautiful. Her skin was so perfect and her black hair fell around her face in the most beautiful way. But the most striking feature was definitely her eyes. They were an electric blue color, I mean even the ocean couldn't compete with how blue her eyes were. Was being pretty just a normal thing for elves?

Suddenly I felt self conscious. I mean, look at this beauty while I'm over here looking like fox dung. My red, vibrant hair bounced everywhere, and my dull green eyes mixed in with almost everyone in the fairy community. It was actually rare to not have green eyes. I played with the bottom hem of my dress, a nervous habit of mine.

I looked at the elf one more time. An electric connection past through us. She glared at me. I gave her a soft smile. And that's when I noticed it. Blood. Blood was splattered all over her clothes and hands. It wasn't her own blood but instead the blood of another. I held in a gasp. She couldn't have killed one of us. Right?

It was silent between us.

"You're trespassing" I decided to challenge the silence. "I know" she responded flatly. Rolling my eyes I responded with a simple, "why?"

"I was hunting" she replied coolly.

"Why weren't you hunting in your territory?"

"My prey ran over here" she gestured to the dead squirrel that lay half covered in flowers and bushes.

I grunted in response. "You should go back before you're caught" I warned her.

"You're not going to punish me?" She asked, "You're not going to try to kill me?"

"Not my job" I informed her casually.

"Nalu" she told me.

I stared at her for a second. My mind whirling, trying to figure out this code. Oh. That's her name. I mentally face palmed.

"Ahi" I replied, as if I knew exactly what was happening.

She bowed her head, "I am in your debt." And in one quick swoosh she had the dead squirrel hung over her shoulder and was walking away.

A/n: So this is my first contest and I'm super excited!!! I hope you liked it! I apologize for any errors or grammar mistakes! Sorry if it's a bit too long, I just had so much writing it. ☺ narwhalsarelife
